So how much does it all weigh?

Following the thread on caravan weights, I found a list in an old work note book that I compiled back in 2014 where I weighed everything when loading a new caravan.  Please remember these items will weigh differently depending on model etc so don't start thumping the keyboard with steam coming out of your ears because "your" bedding only weighs 9kgs :D

Just thought some of those new to caravanning would find it interesting and perhaps understand why some of us "seasoned/matured" caravanners moan so much about payloads!  These are just items that stayed in the caravan, hence food & clothes are ADDITIONAL to the below.

Aquarolls (x 2) & handles                     10kg

I make that a total of 115.9 kg.

On a long continental trip we tend to take too much stuff and end up culling loads after the "weigh-in".

Other weights that may be of interest

25m EHU cable                        4.8kg

10m EHU cable                        2.6kg

Water hose & waste pipe   6.3kg

Campingaz 907 (full)            6.4kg

For the newbies,  don’t forget that motor movers come out of the payload, also the battery and gas bottles come out of the payload, although there is usually a small allowance (nowhere near the actual weights ) for these in MIRO

check your hand book to see what your caravan maker has included in the MIRO, probably no water at all.  The MIRO was changed in 2011 & 2015 for those with pre loved (2nd hand ) caravans. If you have fitted anything after the van has left the factory the weight is included in the payload, e.g. solar panel, ATC, motor mover etc.

Aside from what's on the list, our heaviest items are clothes and food.

Online blog and travels, although sometimes there is a lack of travel due to work!

It's an uncharted sea, it's an unopened door but you've got to reach out and you've got to explore.

Thanks, useful list.  We recently weighed and were 14 kg over in  'on the drive '  mode,  now stripped out 15kg of irrelevant stuff , got a 25kg upgrade and now have 26 kg left for food and clothing, which should be fine.  All of that will go at the back to reduce the noseweight.  Just have to bear on mind that  weighbridges are only accurate to +/-20 kg.
