Removing Sticky Residue

Hi.

I had my exterior locker taped up with very strong gaffer tape whilst waiting for new door to arrive.

Tape has been on there for about 4 months(throughout this hot weather) and today I removed the backing glue etc.. using SAS Label and Gum remover.

What an excellent product.

Spray on and wait 2-3 minutes then remove.

I used one of those plastic scrapers(the type you use with filler on cars).

Washed off afterwards with warm soapy water the a coat of Autoglym polish.

Just wanted to share incase it helps someone else.😊

Never tried that Connie, but the gaffer tape I used even left the reinforcing mesh on the van but this stuff just seemed to dissolve it.

Will keep the furniture polish in mind though.

Can I have my can back if you've finished with it, only joking, glad it did the job for you.

P.S. don't tell anyone where I work because Mr Plodd is trying to work out who I am !!

Ooh I know where he works alright.

More than likely he was chatting to Truma earlier today about an issue I have with my Combi boiler.

Experience is something you acquire after you have an urgent need for it.

WD40 works well, as does brake cleaner.

Just a warning Please be very careful what you put on  acrylic windows and roof lights (Heki/Remi). White spirit - as an example - causes crazing.
