Hi I have a 575vip which we keep stored in Spain,  Ever since we have used it in Spain the led lights do not work, could this be to a polarity problem or the circuit board.  any ideas thanks for looking.

  • Jay changed the title to LED Problem

It is very difficult to diagnose with so little information.

Did the LEDs work before you stored it in Spain?

Does other 12V equipment work?

Are you referring to all the lights or just some?

Does plugging in the ehu make any difference?

Have you checked the battery?

A polarity issue is unlikely unless you have changed the LEDs since they last worked.

If other 12V stuff works your best bet is to look for a blown fuse.

If other 12V stuff does not work your best bet is to check for a master switch

OP says they have never worked in Spain so I'd guess that it is a polarity issue.

I suggest that if they are on a site with other UK people then ask around for a polarity tester.

Easily fixed if it is.

Unless otherwise stated all posts are my personal opinion

Some LEDs are polarity-sensitive, some are not.  More recent products seem not to be.  As said, if you can reverse the terminals and they then work, you have your answer.

Surely AC polarity will not affect LEDs?

You are quite correct Stevan, LED’s only work on DC so AC polarity will have no effect, in fact AC polarity won’t affect anything in the van.

My opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.;)
