MIRO with Swift caravans

Recommended Posts

Looking through Swift docs, it shows MRO comprises:

  1. Empty Caravan plus all loose items supplied (cable, Step etc)
  2. 10kg for LPG
  3. An allowance of 20 kg for leisure battery.

I was surprised about the battery.  Perhaps I'm out of date.

  • WispMan changed the title to MIRO with Swift caravans

The problem is that each manufacturer has its own idea of what MRO is.  It’s time there was standardisation.

The Swift MIRO does not include the battery. It is included within the personal effects allowance. In the case of your caravan you have a personal effects allowance of 160kg unless the caravan has uprated  MTPLM of 2000kg

I wouldn't rely on any MIRO figure regardless of whether the battery is included or not. It is a generic figure that represents the weight of just the one caravan that the manufacturer submitted for type approval and not that of the actual caravan in question. Therefore, the error could be greater than the weight of a battery.

how old is your van as there were changes in 2011 when they put the battery from the MIRO to part of the payload.  On my bailey I'm almost sure that it says an allowance of 20kg.  for the leisure battery should be made in the payload, or something similar
