2009 MRO - calor & water included?

Recommended Posts

Howdy all, buying a first (used) caravan to test the water. It is a 2009 Swift Freestyle 495. The MRO is 1283kg. I have read MRO guidelines changed a lot back then (2009 to 2011). I am trying to understand if the MRO includes a full calor cyclinder (and anything else). Good news if it does as means I have more payload (MTPLM is 1490kg). TIA DLAU

According to data for your caravan from this site https://www.caravantalk.co.uk/caravan-data/swift-freestyle-se-495-2009-caravan-specifications/ your MRO and MTPLM are slightly different to your quoted figures. However if you look at the following link which includes the 2009 Challenger https://www.swiftgroup.co.uk/buy/brochures/swift-challenger not sure how that compares with your model but you will have your MRO, 69kg for Essential Habitation Equipment Payload (this includes gas and battery although may be only one cylinder), Optional Equipment Payload 10 Kg (normally includes items such as upholstery upgrade or an alko wheel lock as specified in the original sales list) and the remainder is the personal effects payload. The 69kg and 10kg where usually fairly standard around this time.

One cannot rely on the MRO figure to represent the actual weight of your particular caravan anyway. If you want an accurate figure you need to have the caravan weighed.

Thank you Lockin, yes seems the Freestyle is based on the Europa 495 and Charisma 555. The Freestyle however does seem slightly different to the MRP/MTPLM for these versions (see pic), perhaps because the FreeStyle is a custom build for Lowdhams so will likely have some slightly different fittings.

Agreed, thanks. I will take it to a local weighbridge and load as needed to get this within MTPLM limits. Kind regards DLAU
