Electric connection problematic

Recommended Posts

Just bought a caravan so everything new to me. My electric connection to towbar is the quarter twist style. It is very stiff and difficult to connect or remove. Can the outside surface be lubricated at all to ease connection

Those 13-pin connectors can easily get mis-aligned - then as you say often won’t connect or disconnect.

I use the realignment tool, which should have come with your van if it’s newish.

If you’re not sure, this is what it looks like …

Available here, for example.

Plenty of ‘how-to’ videos here.

Funnily enough I had this issue leaving the site we were on up to last weekend. Took me 15 to 20 to finally get it connected on departure day.

Was thinking of trying lithium spray?
