Whale water pump dribbling

Recommended Posts

If pump intermittently starts after using taps and water trickles back down the pump socket. Check diaphragm has not got minute particles in it . Dismantle and carefully note where bits are positioned and place in a small bowl of antibacterial diluted with water  this usually rectifies the problem you will see insect and small particles in the water after a few minutes you can then re assemble it.

In addition to keeping the water pipes clean, I  would also give the inlet a regular cleaning with a fine brush and clean water, then repeat with a dilute Milton solution and leave for a short while, finally swilling off with pure water before sealing with the hinged lid. If I am going to drink the caravan water (and I always have) I will ensure that my water supply is safe to drink.

Cant say I ever this issue when we had that system. The usual cause of dribbles is missing, broken or damaged o rings - 2 required. Also the cover flap must be folded down so the slot in the image locks over the corresponding male piece of the connector block

We had this problem recently and it as dirt in the non return valve, the little black rubber disc in the picture. As we are in Spain I ordered a kit from UK about £6 but after watching the U-tube video decided to see if I could clean it.

Removed the blue part and using a toothpick managed to lift the edge of the seal and run a bit of tissue round it, came out black with lots tiny bits, put it back together and now fine.

Service kit arrived a week later so is now in the spares box.
