Looking for a Summer tour

Recommended Posts

Any suggestions on where to go this Summer? I'm looking for somewhere which has some great scenic walking spots.

How far do you want to go, starting from where?

Cornwall, Wales, Peak District, Lake District, Yorkshire Moors, Scotland, or various flatter places in between.

Or you could go abroad.  Europe has many types of landscape.

Netherlands:     flat as a pancake, great for cycling.

Belgium/Luxumbourg:   A bit flat, but can be hilly, and also very forestry (is that a word?:D).  The Battle of the Bulge was fought here, so beware, you could get lost, you might meet some Americans who may still be lostB).  And nearly forgot, Luxumbourg is really, really cheap for car fuel

Switzerland/Austria:   very hilly, some bigger than others.  Great for hill walking or mountain climbing.  In Switzerland, look for the yellow road signs, these are for walkers.  It tells you how far the walk is

France/Germany:   both flat and hilly.  France is great for picnics.  Also includes three sides of seas (English Channel, the Med and Atlantic/Bay of Biscay).  Germany has a bit of the North Sea (really cold, even in the height of summer)

Spain:  really sandy as its either beachy or desert:D

The less said about Italy the better.  And beware if going here.  The drivers do not know the meaning of the word indicators:blush:
