Review : St Helens In The Park, Scarborough, N.Yorks

Recommended Posts

http://www.sthelenscaravanpark.co.uk/

We stayed at St Helens in the Park  for 7 nights in August 2019

We booked a super pitch in the adult only section

It became quickly clear than ww were on the main exit route to the whole site. Not only that but the section we booked wasn't actually adult only.

Now I haven't got a problem with kids, I was one & I have 2 as well as 5 grandkids. But whats the point of paying a premium for adults only when it isn't

There are 4 shower blocks on the site. 2 were so bad I wouldn't use them. 1 nearest reception altho very clean resembled the swimming baths changing rooms of the 70's (showing may age here). The final 1 on the top area was like a 5 star hotel. It was beautiful & I walked 10 mins to get to it every night

Speaking with other caravanners I found that over a 100 of the pitches on the site were for seasonal customers who were paying £2500/annum for the privilege

The site was well kept & neat but what I couldn't understand while all the shower block weren't of the quality of the 5 star one. They have the income coming in

We were very disappointed and won't be back

Not a site I would recommend TBH

Sloping pitch with builder gravel

15 m water connection pipe required

Even Darcy wasn't impressed lol

The wife & I went in the early 80's in my Mum & Dads Bailey for 3 weeks

We absolutely loved it then & I must admit the visit last August was a bit of a 'reminisce' trip

We were so very disappointed TBH

That would be around the same time we last visited.

We now use Vale of Pickering Caravan site when in that neck of the woods.
