Abbey Spectum 418

Recommended Posts

Recently we had a major blowout on the tyre of our Abbey Spectrum 418.  We now require a new alloy 15' 5 stud (205/65R15C). We have hunted high and low, and been informed that there is no alternative we can use (surely not)! Appreciate any help with locating this alloy, or advice.

I am guessing you need a new tyre, but do you need the wheel as well. Getting tyres should not be a problem, but you may have to locate a matching wheel at somewhere like a caravan breakers. In a quick search Kwik-Fit came up with a choice of six tyres from about £50 each, although you did not state the load index in your original post.

Have you been in contact with Swift for the correct specification of the wheel ie rim diameter, rim width, offset and pitch circle diameter of the 5 stud fixing.

John.

I don't think that Abbey used anything special by way of a chassis so the rims should have been one of the standard sizes.

You may well find that a new pair of wheels are easier to obtain than getting a cosmetic match.

There are firms that will drill stud holes to order so they only need to stock the right diameter and offset.

Abbey are part of Swift group so a Swift alloy may fit OK if not match in style 100%.  But do you need an alloy?  Steel may do.  The spare is likely steel?

Search for Caravan Alloy Wheels throws up quite a few 15 inch 5 hole rims which could be suitable.

Maybe best to ask a Swift dealer or their customer service to be sure?

you wont be able to get a single replacement (unless its used) but certainly could get a pair new from Swift (which would come from their current range)
