TV aerial lead

Recommended Posts

Hi could someone advise what type of lead I need to connect my TV to the caravan aerial. Have not tried it as yet as I have been watching recorded TV through a laptop.

Thanks in advance from a caravan novice

What aerial connections does your caravan have?

Most just need a short co-axial flylead.

I would suggest obtaining a short length of CT100 or similar cable and fitting your own plugs. The cheap flyleads are notorious for using cheap lossy cable with poor screening. If you happen to land near a TV transmitter such cables may pick up the signal directly and  cause picture break up. Get the above cable (often also called satellite cable in retail outlets) it has a foil screen surrounded by a good braid screen which removes the possible problem.

TV plugs in packs of 10 from Screwfix come significantly cheaper than buying a two-pack from any DIY shed.
