Pau1968
Hi Guys Brand new here to forums, and mostly new to caravaning We just picked up a fairly old, but new to us 2007 Pastiche 460/2, and love it. We saw a couple of them when we decided what birth/ layout etc we wanted, and in all of them there was a bulb near the floor on the centre console between the two chairs. It flashed red all the time we were away, and although i don't think it was a warning light, more an indicator of some sort (I Hope).. but i do not know what its for. One of the private ones we went to view, the owner didn't know.. and when we picked our up from the dealer, he didn't know either. He was a great guy, but he wasn't a particular make specialist, just selling vans really. So im hoping that someone here might know. Cheers in advance Paul
Easy T
Could be a PIR sensor to detect motion for the alarm. If you sit very still does it stop? Minion 63
As Easy T says, sounds like a motion detector for the alarm. We had one the same on our old Swift Coastline.
Lost in the wilderness
If it’s a PIR sensor, and if it’s a Sergent unit, then red flash indicates a battery issue. Healthy battery will flash green
Pau1968
Ahh that makes sense, thanks guys, it does have that look about it now that i think of it. I dont think the battery is an issue though, as I charged it from saturday till yesterday afternoon when we left site.. the motor mover was fine and the voltage meter above the door seemed ok to... Thx so much for the responses ** I may have misunderstood LITW's response, I am presuming the Sargant Alarm has its own seperate battery backup, like a house alarm.. ** Edited August 22, 2019 by Pau1968 Misunderstood

Lost in Wilderness might be right. Sargeant will advise if you make a quick call. The battery would probably refer to the rechargeable one in the alarm system if so rather than the leisure battery Alan 2005 Nissan X-trail 4WD diesel and Swift Charisma 540 2012 Lunar Clubman ES 2018 Lunar Clubman ES
Minion 63
Our Coastline one only flashed Red, but then it might not have been a Sergent alarm. Never had a problem with the alarm battery other than it was once stolen when the caravan was having adaptions done. They also stole the motor mover control unit. Easy T
From memory if the alarm battery is flat on the newer Sargent alarm the alarm will sound. When it is turned off with the fob it gives a bleep code that signifies low battery. No idea with earlier models. As I said I cannot recall PIR colour and, of course, they may have changed since 2007 anyway. If alarm functions OK I would have assumed battery OK. As long as alarm battery is getting a feed from leisure battery it probably will work anyway. The battery in my caravan gave a low battery alarm because, having been replaced by the dealer, their is a switch inside that needs to be set so that the leisure battery charges the alarm battery. This had not been done. Alan 2005 Nissan X-trail 4WD diesel and Swift Charisma 540 2012 Lunar Clubman ES 2018 Lunar Clubman ES
