Rikster Posted May 14, 2019 Share Posted May 14, 2019 After months of planning we are heading off soon on our Big Trip through France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia and just wanted to confirm some road advice. I know we require a vignette for Austria and Slovenia but do we require a vignette for Germany and Croatia? On past experience, is it better to try and purchase the vignette before entering the country (as in, when leaving France close to the German order etc), or is it acceptable to stop at the first garage where, I think they can be purchased? Lutz Posted May 14, 2019 Share Posted May 14, 2019 Roads in Germany are toll free for all except heavy commercial vehicles so there are no vignettes for the country. I think that the cc and Eurotunnel offer a discounted joining fee. ATMB and APRR often have special offers and have English language websites to apply for a tag. Payment is by direct debit on a UK card for any month in which the tag is used.
