Is 140bhp enough? Choosing a used car for towing.

Bother dash and blow I always believed that my rigger booted diesel van driving pals were right when they claimed my last four diesel MPVs were more reliable than fragile sparky petrols.

According to a recent survey by Motoreasy conducted on 12 month old cars plushttps://www.theguardian.com/money/2018/jan/27/diesel-cars-cheap-reliable-petrol

diesels are 3 times more likely to break down!

with Alfa Romeo Land Rover Kia and Mazda being the worst-compared to their petrol counterparts.

So it appears the petrol heads have got us paraffin burners beat on the reliability stakes as well.

I suppose its not surprising when you consider than turbo petrol and turbo diesel are very similar although diesel has more complex emission systems, runs much higher fuel pressure and run more complex turbos at higher levels of boost.
