Locked

Recommended Posts

Hi,we have an adria adora 612dt caravan ,we have just unlocked it for the first time since last year, the lock is playing up,we can’t lock it up for fear of not being able to get back in caravan,

there dosnt appear to be any screws etc ,so I can gain access to the lock ,to see what is going on,I have trawled the internet ,but no luck ,does anyone know ,how I get to the inside of the lock please,or have I got to pay hundreds of pounds to a specialist repair company

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is it just the key when turned in the lock that is the problem, as in you can lock/unlock and open the door from inside using the lever?

If that is the case you could try whilst the door is open, applying a small amount of silicon grease to the key and pushing it in and out and turning it in the barrel a few times to see if it frees things up.

Don’t know if this will help but if the door is a difficult to open after unlocking keep the key in and hold it turned to the left at the same time as opening with the handle this make sure it fully retracts the locking bars as sometimes they do not clear the striker plate. If you have the door open you will see the difference .

Rub the cuts of the key with a soft pencil (HB) and insert it into the lock a few times, that normally does the trick.
