Sink waste to waste pipe reducer

Recommended Posts

Hi. .. sorry, anther request in the ongoing bathroom renovations!

Ok, so I have a sink waste that has a 28mm rigid waste pipe connection, but I would like to connect it to a 23. 5mm convoluted hose.   Can this be done?  I cannot seem to find an adapter to suit.

Cheers as always

Reducers in waste hoses are generally a bad idea, they attract blockages that can be very hard to clear without a full strip down.

This sleeve adapts a smaller diameter pipe to a larger diameter hose. You could replace the sink waste/plug hole  https://www. caravanaccessoryshop. co. uk/product/sink-waste-angled-1-1-4inch-3-4inch/801 and then fit the hose with one of these sleeves. A jubilee clip will help stop it coming off the waste pipe.

From experience I have one word of advice to you - "Don't"

The corrugated waste pipe is notorious for causing low flow rates, drooping under the weight of water and  and blocking up on horizontal runs. I have "converted" several caravans to use a standard U-trap under the sink and smooth "domestic" drain pipe all the way from the sink to the under-floor outlet to the waste container. Not once have i had a blocked pipe and the benefit of rapid draining of the sink is well worth the time spent in upgrading the waste pipes.

Thanks Gordon,

I will have a look this weekend at how difficult it would be.
