what type of plastic is a caravan shower tray

Hi again,

 

Says it all really.   I need to do a repair, but just want to check the specific plastic before I buy the filler/epoxy

Honestly,  it can be various. To my knowledge GRP has been used as has capped ABS. If you stated the van and year of build some here might have the specifics.

I don't know, but would suspect even by then they moved to an ABS.

If you have a spare bit in a tube of the plastic waste pipe solvent used in plumbing, a careful check using a drop in a hidden area could confirm this as many of the better quality welded plastic waste fittings used ABS.

Marley and  from Scewfix Floplas, are ABS examples.

A local shower tray repairer coated mine with a sort of rubbery coating, I think it's the sort of stuff used on the floor / sides of pickup trucks, its not black of course.

Mine was ABS but in the end I decided to replace it.     I bought a new tray from Grasshopper for around 30 quid.    It wasn't a direct replacement so it needed a bit of alteration.     See a full account HERE and scroll down to job 15.
