Ken wylie Posted January 1 Hi, Anyone had this problem I have checked fuses and the reset button but still only works on Gas Dealer not really sure or interested need a recommendation for truma boiler repair I suspect it’s a circuit board but everyone I speak to says it needs a new boiler but it works fine on gas just can’t regulate as easy as on Electric and costing more with Gas . Thanks Ken
WispMan Posted January 1 Your hard earned was paid to the dealer so they have an obligation to sort this out. How long have you had it?
Wunny Posted January 1 (edited) This may sound silly, but have you plugged in the the Electric Hook Up cable and turned on the supply/ checked the trips have not tripped and turned on the master switch. Some new owners think that everything can be powered off the battery. The combi will not run on just battery electric, it needs to be connected to the mains electricity supply. No mains electric, then it only works on gas and then only if the battery is connected and charged. You also have to select EL1 or EL2 on the display to get it to work on electric. macaw Posted January 1 Hi from what I know it's not an uncommon problem, I had the same with ours mid winter. Trumas response was EHU supply must have caused it but the other vans on same supply had no troubles. What our was there is a fuse hidden internally under a cover of boiler, Truma said specialist fitter only can change it luckily ours was still under warranty but a long way from supplying dealer, found a local Truma approved caravan workshop who fixed it and bill supplying dealer, hope this helps, Happy New Year macaw

Wunny Posted January 1 The 240V overheat trip could be the problem. click the link here: and see page 8 Overheating protection 240 V, located under plastic panel The operation of the overheating protection 240 V indi- cates a possibly dangerous situation. Do not reset the overheating protection 240 V until the water heater has been serviced by a qualified person. The 240 V heating facility has a mechanical overheating switch. If the 12 V power supply is interrupted during opera- tion or during the after-run period, for example, the tempera- tures within the unit could activate the overheating protection. Fig. 7 To reset the overheating protection, allow heater to cool, remove connection cover and press red reset button.
