Chris - Lidl have a wine fair on at the moment (I think, perhaps not in your area) and there are some seriously good and cheap wines on offer.

Where are you at present?  We did our main shopping at LIDL and then for the odd bits and pieces bought from Carrefour.   We were south of La Rochelle and Carrefour and LIDL are in the same industrial area.

The bairn bought a pack of Oreos 1.46 they’re normally 50p on offer back home but at least the wines reasonable😜

There's your problem: Oreos!

Seriously though, best thing is to look what's good value and buy they. It will mean some adjustments but that's part of the fun

Good to hear that Chris.   Durbanite (above) asked my advice about shopping when he ventured 'over there' for the first time and I'm glad to hear that he still shops there and saves money.

  • Thanks 1

Yeah thanks for that we went and it was one of the best meals we had and very reasonable compared to others we ate at

well we’ll be back home in 2.5 hours were all looking forward to our own beds

we all had a cracking time and loved every sight we stayed at although brittany was a little cold for us, loved being in the dordogne there’s so much to do, defianately the nicest scenery we’ve ever encountered.

if we are fortunate to be in a position to go for the 6 weeks hols next year we will more than likely go to Spain with  a dordogne stop off

Very pleased to hear that you’ve had a good trip.  Nothing stopping you now.  You’ll be much more confident to return next year!    :)
