Need to know the model. .could be the old one with a control switch on the wall or it may well be the 4000/5500 series with a slide switch on the fire top

Hi gary

Its got a main switch and integral fuse just inside the outside door with a 13 amp fuse and TV coax socket, above the main electrical distibution panels. Going by the info received from other members its a Fanmaster with a fire front showing just under the wardrobe with a thermostat control and igniter on the top surface.

It also appears that the fault is in the pcb but any other light you may shed will be most welcome

As I thought it is the later Fanmaster and completely different to the one before. Main problem I am getting with these is the slide control switch on the fire front is faulty. ..biggest problem being you cannot get a new one unless a dealer has old stock. The control board at the back does give the odd problem but most I get in for repair are infact OK. The only problem I have found to date is reverse polarity, the pin to the edge of the board is positive, centre negative and the inner pin three is not used.

Problems with the slide switch can show as an LED not lighting or two on at once, if a LED has blown they are a tricky job to replace and one 3 leg style LED is hard to source for the pinout used on the board. If the lights are OK then cleaning the tracks will repair the switch. ..but then you need to reassemble the switch so it works realiable??. Serviced exchange units from me are £20. I doubt your fan motor is faulty but you can get it out and put 12 volts direct to it to check.

The fire is basically new and the faults are only just surfacing. ..just in time for you to find out little or nothing is availabe to fix it from Trauma. ..I have most spares however, some new others serviced exchange. The only thing I cannot get is the plastic top to the fire, if you break this it's a complete fire front or nothing!
