Running Alde Heating Off Grid

Recommended Posts

Interested to find out the effects of the Alde circulation pump on the state of a caravan battery when using the heating off grid.

Is there  a high current draw by the pump? Obviously gas is providing the energy for the heat but the pump runs off the battery.

Used ours all the time off grid, never ran out of battery even in the depths of winter.

This is however with 100ah battery and 200w of solar panels.

No problem with a 110amp battery and 150w solar panel, I think the pump draws just under 1 amp, also cheap gas using a Safefill  refillable cylinder, just have to be bit careful with TV usage in winter.

Similar to JohnW, no problems.  180Ah battery 150w SP.  You will use a lot of gas though.

No problems. Alde do a facts sheet on their web site on current consumption.  Also the heating is designed to function when the battery drops really low.
