Caravan 13 pin cable

Hi I am new to Caravanning.  I have a question relating to the 13 pin cable from the caravan.  When plugged into the car the cable touches the road.  Should I have it shortened or is there some other option that people use?

Leave it long and I use a cable tie every trip.

If there is sufficient length it can be routed around the hand brake lever.

And :welcome:

Hi Perky Welcome to CT.

My tip for keeping the cable of the ground is to use a bungee as per photo.

The cable exits the A frame just to the right of the hitch bellows. Rather than passing it under the hitch, I put mine over the rubber bellows (and under the Alko hitch stabilizer handle), then routed to the socket. The lead length is just long enough for sharp corners either way, and still doesn't touch the road.

My cables are held up by a bungee looped around the jockey wheel handle. Also stops the handle unwinding.
