Aldi Caravan Covers

Recommended Posts

I see Aldi have the caravan accessories in again, which they usually do this time of year.   This year they have a cover - in 2 sizes 17'-19' & 19'-21' @ £79. 99

I never seen them before & don't know if they have been stocked in previous years. Anybody have experience of one?

They're breathable & have side zips for door access.

The price has been reduced to £69. 99.

They also have pretty decent hard ground awning pegs for £7. 99

I wouldn't bother with one from Aldi. Stong winds last night (and no worse than we've epxterienced in the past) and it's now in shreds. Once torn, the fabric tears like paper.

I purchased a cheap caravan cover several years ago was advertised as breathable, however when I went to check my caravan in storage the interior of the caravan was dripping in condensation.

I have previously had two specialised accessories covers, not cheap but good quality breathable material.

In the storage compound where I keep my caravan there are a few caravans with cheap poor quality covers on them, most have shredded in the wind.

"Cheap" is very often paired with "and nasty" for good reason! There can, of course, be exceptions, but these are more often "nasty" without the cheap.

Below is a copy of something I posted on another thread.

When I traded my last caravan in I chatted to the dealer about a cover for my new one. His response???

He HATES them because no matter how careful you are at cleaning a caravan prior to fitting a cover some dirt/grit/whatever stays behind and then acts as a mild abrasive on the surface every time the cover moves just a little tiny bit and that results in him having to polish the marks out. He also stated he has lost count of the man hours he has spent polishing out dull areas on front windows caused by the same problem surrounding towing covers rubbing against front windows.

I just thought I would pass that on for information, but I thought a dealer would probably see vastly more caravans in a month than we owners will in many years. Therefore he is probably in a good position to have extensive practical experience.

So there it is for what its worth.

Andy

p.s. ALDI are doing flush and waste tank toilet liquids at £5.99 for 2 litres, much cheaper than Thetford or Elsan;)

I bought one of Aldi covers last year and used it over the winter months .When I came to take it off in the spring it was like paper and in parts was turning into powder.

To be fair Aldi had a 3 year warranty and they gave me a refund For the £79.99 . Lucky I  had kept the receipt
