Major announcement by the C&M Club ?

Recommended Posts

I've heard a couple of rumours recently, both on the web and on the ground, that the C&MC will be making another major announcement at the NEC Show next month  …  possibly to do with fees this time.

Has anyone else heard anything, or is anyone in the know?

John

Ok heres the reason for the major announcement I didn't want to spoil the surprise but, they've found out who nicked AWoLs dancing shoes picture

My best guess is that the Club will be announcing the fake news that since changing the Club's name the number of members has reached or passed the million mark. This is despite the fact the ABC Jan to Dec 2016 circulation figure for the circulation of the members magazine being 352,046. When the claimed figure neared a million last year they had clearly wrongly extrapolated the circulation figure to include family memberships. In true spin doctors' style they never let the facts get in the way of a Good news announcement.

In recent years the Club's claims of pitch nights available on Club sites has included not only pitches available on Affiliated independently owned and run sites but also CLs.

By all accounts the announcement of the change of the Club's name at the last NEC show was met with a mixture of anger and indifference. The Club's spin doctors seem to have since deleted all dissenting views from the Clubbed together forum.

They will announce that their new acronym is CMCD which, of course, stands for:

Changed our Mind we're Charging Deposits

The acceptance of tents?

The "penny dropping" that with the demonisation of IC powered vehicles there is inevitably going to be a great shortage of traditional site users and so a need to look elsewhere.

Plus installation of vehicle recharging points?

The installation of vehicle charging points is probably the most likely, though probably on a token trial basis, rather than network wide. It will be a welcome move because other site operators are looking to the Clubs to provide a lead in both installation policy and pricing and so far they've been rather silent on the issues.

I've got nothing to do on this hot afternoon

but to settle down and write you a line.

However how many people would tow a caravan with an EV?  Also means the cost of a CC pitch will rise to cover the infrastructure for the EV points.   Glad we hardly ever use CMC sites.

It'll be £5/night surcharge to charge EVs - that would be sensible.

Can't make up my mind whether that's a continuation of humour or a serious post!

Still wrong. They are finally going to start  a campaign to get the caravan manufacturers to improve the build quality of their caravans.

I also believe I am going to win the lottery this weekend. :D

2040 is about electrification, which includes hybrid, PHEV and range extender all with diesel/petrol engines as well as battery electrics.

Yes, the Club will be leasing all the sites to the electrical generation industry and we will all have to pitch between the solar panels and wind turbines so that we can charge our cars in order to get home.

If caravans could pitch UNDER the solar panels, they wouldn't get wet so wouldn't leak.
