A member of our group on holiday with us has no mains heating, all fuses checked and ok. The green light on the control switch is on but no heat. Any ideas anyone, TIA

If it is mains it won't be fuses but circuit breakers (MCB). Has the appropriate MCB tripped? Does anything else on mains 240V work?

If the answers are No and Yes, then it could be the element.

Daft question. On top of the heater is a switch to set the element to either 500w or 1000w. Has he set that?

The green light will be on if either of the 3 power settings are selected, but the heater will only come on if the thermostat on the control knob is set high enough.
