Verona - Retro Fit Wet Heating System, Is It Viable?

Recommended Posts

We have a Verona 2011 which is good and has no problems but like the newer wet heating systems and solar panals that are fitted as standard on the new Unicores. Struggling to justify £24k spend for these two options, is it possible to retro fit the newer wet heating systems, solar panel is is easy?

Cant see how it would be possible to retrofit the Alde heating system. You would have to remove most if not all of the fittings inside the caravan to do it.

Anything is possible - but you'll need to redesign some of the furniture to allow air circulation over the convectors. If that air flow is less than good, the heating will be poor.

The Alde system uses a single tube for the Glycol mixture which has to be installed all the way round the caravan interior, behind the shower and over the wheel arches and past the entrance door. Getting this tubing in would be a bit of a challenge. Then there is the furniture issue mentioned above. If this isn't enough to put you off it altogether, I think its probably cost prohibitive.

Ok, thanks confirmed as not viable but worth asking.

Spend your time and effort optimising the blown air system you have - insulate ALL underfloor runs and fit a remote thermostat - available from Gary at Arcsystems if yours has got the Truma Ultraheat - not sure about the Whale system.

It would be a waste of time and money I'm afraid, better to buy a run out Valencia U3, if you can find one.

Have a look at electric underfloor heating, easy to fit and effective, providing you have ehu of course.
