Recommended Posts

afternoon all,

does anyone have experience of the Thule roll out awnings, the Omnistor 1200 and side panels is looking good but some first hand experiences would be helpful.

thanks in advance

We had an Omnistor. Very good bit of kit, well made and robust. Had no problems with it at all but a change in our caravanning practice means we no longer have a need for it. Friends have given it a new home. We didn't have side panels so cannot comment on that aspect.

We had a wind out one made by Fiamma on the side of our Transit when we raced motor bikes. It was fine until the slightest bit of wind and then we had to weigh down the thing with straps and tool boxes. If it rained one leg had to be lowered to stop pooling and allow the water to run off. Apart from that it was great !

We have just bought the caravan store, looked at the Thule but as l said above l was warned that the parts were more available for the caravanstore plus the Thule was more dearer. We have not used it yet will do in September when we go to Poolsbrook, l bought the feet plates for the legs plus storm straps but of course what has been said on this forum better to role back up in really strong winds. l take it its the same with the Thule. It will be interesting how strong the wind gets before you have to retract it
