Caravan looks amazing, how does it tow . Glad to see you have a Whale pump, much better than Truma !.

Hope you have plenty of amazing trips out, will pop & say hello if we cross paths, or pitches.

Sorry all, been playing. :D

1st thing my wife noticed was the pull out ? Above the drawers, is it a work top extension ?. She needs to know, we both like your choice of colours, very understated & should easily stand the test of time .

I was looking at the outside of the van & couldn't see any way of operating the corner steadies manually, just wondered what you do if the auto system falls . ..... Cheers Steve.

Hi Steve

Yes it is a pull out worktop extension.

post-79008-0-61848700-1466289679_thumb.jpg

The E&P system comes with a piece of tube which fits the pump to allow the system to be retracted.

post-79008-0-24867400-1466289695_thumb.jpg

I am told the E&P system needs no maintenance at all and should run without any problems indefinitely. We'll see.

Seems to tow a dream, I've only driven for 15 minutes but that was along country roads and motorways so a fair test. Had the camera system calibrated today, seems very good, time will tell I suppose. I really can't fault the van at all. Very happy.

Thanks for the photos over the build time, it's been an adventure for us as well as yourselves. I think you've made an excellent choice, and well done to Vanmaster for building a beautiful caravan for you, and exactly as you wanted. I saw one at a services on the A1 today and wondered if it could be you, but then i saw it was a Shogun towing and it was a 520 single axle when i parked next to it. A lovely lovely outfit!

Just wish it would stop pouring with rain! Five weeks and I'm off to the Continent in search of some sun and wine with gorgeous food thrown in for good measure. Yay!

Yes I was and still am. If you were here, you should have said hello and I'd have given you the grand tour. Leaving tomorrow to have a couple of bits sorted like an extra shelf in a cupboard above the kitchen and the TV bracket fitted which hadn't arrived in time. So taking it home on Tuesday pm.

Can't believe it's still raining!

Also can't believe the portions of food at the local pub's. Why isn't everyone huge? I've been unable to move after eating out here.

Lovely looking van. Were you on stoney leach nurseries by any chance?

Thanks for that, it's about 20 minutes from our son & his family at Newton le Willows so we will definitely use it.

Gavin and his team at Specialised Covers did a fantastic job of a Tow Pro Elite cover.

Specialzed are good are'nt they, saved me a lot of elbow grease insect cleaning, for less than 5 mins fitting time.

No unfortunately I wasn't there, but use it a lot, it's an excellent CL.

A very nice CL and lovely people too. John, Susan and William were excellent hosts and kept the site spotless. They supplied a big folder with all the local places of interest which included all the info one could need. Excellent pub's within 5 mins of the site as well as a farm shop. We loved it and will use the site again when servicing comes along.

The tow home was uneventful from the vans perspective but took 6 hours instead of 4 due to the traffic on the M1. The van got a good shakedown and towed very well. There is extra weight and it makes itself known pulling away but on the roll is well disguised. The Disco 4 is an impeccable towing king as ever. Always in control and never put a foot wrong. Altogether, I'm very pleased with the rig from both a towing and living point of view and feel that it should perform well for my tour to Croatia in August.

I'm sitting on the edge of lake Garda having been away for four weeks in the new van.
Bad points first.
The intelligent charger stopped and the battery went flat whilst moving the van off a difficult pitch. Typical that it all went wrong at the worst possible time. Managed to shift it with the car but had a hell of a job getting it onto the next site without movers. Eventually bought a new battery (huge cost over here) and got it working only to find out it wasn't the battery but the charger that was at fault. The mains plug (a bit like a kettle lead) had come out. It was pretty likely to be something I did because it's worked perfectly since I pushed the plug back in. Doh!
Light warning on the toilet has packed up. Not investigated too deeply tbh.
The premium jockey wheel is dreadful. I would much rather have a pneumatic. Because of the yoke being so complex and big it doesn't fit the A frame cover and hangs too low. Also the fact that it has a form of suspension for the noseweight measure (hugely inaccurate) the thing gets trapped under the van. It has to go.
Good things.
It tows so much better now I've increased the tyre pressures in the rear of the car.
The setting up on the E&P hydraulics system is so much better than I expected. The weather here has been mid 30's and not winding or even "drilling" makes it such a doddle.
The satellite dish managed to get Sky right into Croatia.
Everything else worked just as it should and been a great place to spend the last month. All in all very pleased with the performance of the van. The weight hasn't caused us any problems and the Disco 4 hasn't missed a beat. Just brilliant really. Love them both and can see many years of fun together.

The fridge plug on my VM used to work loose, a bit of blue tak cured it.

Chances are you have a piece of toilet paper wrapped round the float in the holding tank.
