Hello everyone

We have a bailey orion 430-4, we've not been out in it yet. Hoping to go next week so been getting to know how things work. No problem with heating, filled water tank, but think we must be doing something wrong with the water heater, we can't get any hot water. Can anyone advice us what we should be doing. Thank you. Caron

Hi Caron and :welcome:

What type of water heater do you have? If it's a Truma type there's usually a control panel to power it from either electric or gas. If its electric there's sometimes a mains type switch to turn the system on first. If it's gas there should be a small control panel which allows the choice of fuel and to set the temperature. If you can hear ticking but it just keeps going it could be your gas is turned off at the bottle for when you towed the van, so check that first.

Often in vans there is an electrical switch (maybe below the bench cushions) unmarked so you have to guess!

If you have electrical hook up and the tank us full, switching it on will warm it up within 10 to 15 mins.

Alternatively you can heat the water by gas.

:welcome: Caron, If you do use gas you must make sure to remove the cowl from the flu on the outside wall of you caravan and if there is a window above the flu then this must be kept closed so as to not let the fumes in.
