wouldn t mind something happening on site, or being near something lively.

Do you want a CL type with just electric, or a full facility type

If you want to be near a pub which is an award winning brewery as well, then it has to be "Bank top farm" at Cropton near Pickering, nice Cl with hook ups, 50yrd from a bar stool, run a few rallies there, separate field, so five van field very large. Near to the coast for trips out, plenty going off in the pub, go steady on the "Monksmans Slaughter" its a strong brew. B) Nos

That's the one I was thinking about, with a bit of luck they could see snow

We did last New year at Rudding Park, Harrogate . It was fine, book as early as possible for a hardstanding, You can book for the suit and dickie bow do in the hotel on NYE or theres a pub on site (lot of kids running riot on NYE) and not the cheapest break . Was ok though.

We had some friends who went to a site every year. I think this is the site

http://www. sthelenscaravanpark. co. uk/

They raved about it and wanted us to go but we are fine weather people so we never went. We once went on a new year rally and basically hated every minute so once bitten. ...........

Sadly they are no longer with us so I cant ask

Maybe give the site a ring and ask if there is any action

St Helens in the park is another of our winter stays, again had a few Christmas`s and New Years there, all the action goes off at the pub "Downey Arms" five mins away, short cut at top of site, not too good in high heels!! better on way back. If planning a meal or NYE then you need to book, not been for many years so may have changed. B) Nos

Fox & Chickens pub CL nr Hole of Holkum had one unit on last New Year when we called in to recce it, access would be good if it snows (as it did!). There's also a CL-type site behind the White Swan at Newton on Rawcliffe but the access road from Pickering, albeit reasonably wide, might be an issue in the event of ice/snow. Not sure if it opens all year - it was empty last New Year. We stayed in a self catering next door to the very nice pub and the road was cleared quickly when the weather turned.
