CC site at Welwyn Garden City. Close to A1 (M) J4 and close to main line train into London from Hatfield.

Cheers,

Further round m25 near Heathrow but C CC club site at Chertsey. Excellent links by rail from multiple local stations.

CCC Hertford is another we have used. Really quiet site. Train station about 15 mins walk.

Chertsey is nice too, pitched by the river as we speak, but some aircraft noise, again 15 - 20 mins to the train.

Trains to Hertford are operated by Abelio Greater Anglia if you want to check fares etc.

Trains to Welwyn Garden City are operated by Go Via Thameslink.

Trains to Chertsey are operated by South West Trains

Online blog and travels, although sometimes there is a lack of travel due to work!

It's an uncharted sea, it's an unopened door but you've got to reach out and you've got to explore.

If you use the Crystal Palace site get the bus as far as Brixton and then use the tube, it's MUCH quicker, same coming back. Be sure to book as the site is very popular.

You can use a contactless card instead of an Oyster card, you get the same deal! Check it out on the TFL website for full details.

We use the CC site at Welwyn Garden City about 5 minutes from the A1.

It's about 5 mins walk to the bus stop then train from either Welwyn or Hatfield to Kings Cross

You can change at Finsbury Park to get onto the tube if you prefer

Dunno what time the late buses are to get back to the site - you'd have to check on-line. We use Hatfield to reduce rail fare costs, use our wrinklies bus pass to get there and a taxi back to save hanging around late at night.

We are also users of Welwyn Garden City CC site when we want to visit London for the evening. We have taken the bus in and a taxi back route which works very well and have left London as late as midnight +30. The last time we went in late afternoon for the evening, we drove to Hatfield station - takes about 10 mins - and paid the off peak parking at the station about £3-50 if I remember and so had the car there for our return. Trains are quick and you can look on Trainline and see which are the few-stoppers. If coming from the North or leaving for the North after a visit (we usually visit London on the way to or back from the Continent), we would highly recommend it.

On a visit to London last year, we used Crystal Palace as it was near where our son lived at the time but found that this took a lot of time to get into and out of from the M25 and we also had to deal with the Dart crossing charge by phoning up, If you just want a single trip in and out of London, I would look no further than Welwyn CC.

Lee Valley Regional Park camp site, Picketts Lock in Edmonton has 24 hour W8 bus into the complex. Buses every 20 minutes

5 or 6 stops to Edmonton Green Bus Station, which is opposite Edmonton Green BR Station to London Liverpool Street, or change to London Underground at Seven Sisters on the Victoria Line.

Travel cards sold in the camp shop if you don't want to register your contactless card
