    New pump

Hi all i have a 2006 buccaneer with a truma pump. I was wondering about buying a new one as the one it has is a-bit grimey. Can i buy a newer version of mine? As long as it fits my van? I can’t add pics because files are always to big thanks
  2. Hi there, I am a new Caravanning & recently bought a 2009 Bailey Pageant series 7. I took it away for a weekend & could not get the water to prime properly, I assumed it was the pump which is under the o/s bench seat, the reason being is that I could not feel it sucking at all. I managed to find a local caravan shop with a pump in stock, it was a universal version of mine so again assumed it would be ok. Once fitted it primed, happy days I thought. We then travelled to France on our first proper trip, plumbed everything in only to find same issue as we had back home. The symptons are that it constantly pulls air & never primes. Again the pump does not seem to pull very hard, checked another van, exactly the same & his pump was much louder & primed in a few seconds. My thought is that the pump I have bought is not the right one even though its the same make, I have checked all the pipes for air leaks, none apparent. Can anyone help please ?? Gavin Berkshire
  3. If pump intermittently starts after using taps and water trickles back down the pump socket. Check diaphragm has not got minute particles in it . Dismantle and carefully note where bits are positioned and place in a small bowl of antibacterial diluted with water this usually rectifies the problem you will see insect and small particles in the water after a few minutes you can then re assemble it.
  4. Hi all, yes it’s me again with another question, this time it’s the trauma thingy pump that goes into the aquaroll, we have a 2017 Lunar Clubman SR, currently sitting in a lovely site in Kent, although the weather is rubbish. Every time we turn the water on there is a thumping sound coming from the area where the water pipe work comes into the van, directly below the seat. It can be stopped by turning the white valve which controls the pressure, but after a a time or two it starts again, if I increase or decrease the pressure the pump simply runs on, the water here is extremely limey, two questions if I may has anyone out there experienced this problem and if so do you know what’s causing it? As always from one inexperienced caravaner to you gods of caravaning out there
  5. Hi, Discovered a leak from the cube-like box inside my (Bailey Unicorn Cadiz 2017) caravan. This box looks like the internal 'socket' for the external pump/tube/connector. See photo. And it seems that where the blue face meets the white 'box', drips of water emerge at the bottom and drop onto the floor beneath. In the photo, the bottom left electric connector seems to get wet. I can't be sure *exactly* where the water is coming out of this 'box'.....but all suggested solutions welcome. The van is less than one year old and not the first problem. Thanks. Su
  6. Hi can anyone please offer any advise regards to the above querry We're new to caravaning & have a bailey discovery that we purchased, which was used by the caravan club for towing lessons. There are no pipes installed whatsoever & would like to be able to pull water from a container outside directly to a mixer tap that we are going to install. We do not have the housing either so was wondering what would be the simplest way to get water to the tap. We don't need hot water or a waste we just want to be able to turn the tap on & get cold water. Any installation advise or recommendations would be greatly appriciated. Many thanks
  7. Just got an old Elddis Crusader Storm, fitted with an onboard tank and a Whale EF2 (0615) pump, Cascade GE2 water heater Problem is pump appears dead, I have rebuilt a 1972 Windrush and an 80's Bessaccar in the past but they had pressure systems, this is a microswitched system so not familiar to me. Very brief inspection but there appears to be an inline fused connection to the pump and also a canbus type connection at the back. What are my easiest/cheapest options? Rebuild pump, are replacement options available or changing to an drop in the tank pump? Having not dealt with a microswitch system what type of buffer/link would I need between a drop in pump and the the taps and water heater? Cheers
  8. I have echanged my Dawn Star to a new Lunar van, this van has a pressure switch on the hot and cold water system rather than micro switches on each tap like on my old van. The problem with this system is if you run out of water the pump continues to run trying to build up pressure in the system. If you have not relized that you have run out of water the pump will carry on running until it burns itself out.
  9. Hi my FP0814 older whale water pump keeps recharging itself every 60 seconds, been and checked all pipes for leaks but none, what could be the problem?
  10. We have just bought a Bailey Pageant CD Cabriolet 1995, and now realise that it didn't come with the pump for the water! Can anyone help with the type we need, as we Stupidly forgot to take a photo for reference and it's now sitting on a caravan site 200 miles away! ? we need to know which pump to buy! Thank you in advance ?
  11. I'm new to caravaning so sorry if this is daft question. .... should the water pump be left on or just switched on when you need to use it? The pump I had (Whale) used to pulse and the red light used to flash if I left it switched on without actually running the water so I bought a new one and it does pretty much the same thing. There's always plenty of water in the aquaroll and everything works fine but I don't know what the pulsing sound is or why the light flashes? Any help or suggestions gratefully accepted.
  12. I have a swift Rapide 12/4 1987 but unfortunatly we have no water pump. We have the hole in the side of the can where it should be and have found out that it was a whale supersub 88. Does anyone have any clue where I would be able to get the replacement for this. I can get the 12v pump but not the inlet as it is the old 2 pin socket. Any help please????
  13. Hi, we bought our Abby vogue 416 last yr and the water pump would stay on when tap was turned off, so I bought a second hand one and I plugged it into side of my van turned the bump on and nothing! Pump didn't come on so I put old pump on and nothing with that either!! I've got power going to it so fuse is fine as red light comes on when I turn pump on but when I open tap nothing happens pump doesn't even come on. Can anyone help??
  14. Hi, my caravan is a Bailey Pageant Burgundy 2009. I need a new Smartflo water pump and see the model I have is the uv0814 that has been replaced with the fp0814. my question is as I am in Spain and have to have one sent out is the fp0814 easy to fit and will it fit into the space left by the uv0814 and can I just conect the old pipes and wires? in fact do the wires come with the the clip intact so I can just clip the two sets together. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks yours Jeff.
  15. Well this Easter weekend was my first visit to my van on site in Co. Durham since the 2014 August bank holiday. ...not through choice I hasten to add but due to ill health which finally struck me down in mid-October last year, forcing me to go into hospital for the first time in my life. I already knew I was suffering from the effects of COPD and serious chest infection but it came as rather a shock to be told by the doctors that I also had partial heart failure, which meant apart from many other things including a subsequent small blood clot on the lung and coughing up copious amounts of blood, I was unable to go up and prepare my van for winter. Fortunately, the site owner being a caravan owner himself and knowing of my plight, kindly offered to drain off the water system, leave fridge open and the seat cushions up etc so that was a relief! Since last year, with the aid of good drugs and excellent NHS aftercare, I feel far better now than I did almost all of 2014 and possibly 2013 too so I was certainly looking forward to my first trip away this year. When I arrived at the site, my partner and I set about hooking everything up as usual and the first problem I encountered was that although the gas cylinder was full, nothing was getting through to the cooker hob which I've found the best way to clear the air out of the system the first time it's used after refitting the new propane gas cylinder. It looked as though the bulkhead mounted gas regulator was the cause of it ( probably blocked for some reason). After a lot of head-scratching, I disconnected and reconnected the propane cylinder and it seems to have done the trick but it concerns me that it could do it again. The next problem I encountered was a faulty water pump ( which I'd used continually since 1992 with no problem) - it was erratic in operation/delivery when it did work and the kitchen tap only delivered a trickle whereas the shower room tap worked as usual so it looks like there is a blockage at the kitchen tap end. I had another spare water pump which came with the van and worked fine but the problem was that it wouldn't fit into my clear Jerry-can type water-containers due to being too large for the mouth of the container and seems only suited for such as an Aqua-Roll. In the end we used the over-size pump for showering with the pump placed in a large black bucket covered in cling-film to keep out the nasties and a small container for topping up the kettle/drinking so it wasn't too bad. Even with the niggles we still had a great time, the weather was glorious and the van was bone dry so can't wait to get back up there for the early May bank holiday but I do need to get things sorted before then. Questions. I admit I don't know the first thing about Aqua-rolls, so can one visually tell how much water remains in the containers or does it only become apparent when the water runs out? With our clear containers, we just need to stick our head out of the offside window to see how much water we have remaining in either container and as we always top up when one empties, we're never caught out. Even if I have to purchase a new (smaller) pump, it will still be cheaper than purchasing a couple of Aqua-rolls to accept the larger pump so that seems the way to go. The larger pump worked fine in the bucket but water from the sink tap still only trickled out so can the tap be disassembled to clear out what is blocking it? Finally, has anyone else had any problems with the bulkhead mounted gas pressure regulator in their Adria and what was the solution? Thanks in advance. .. Tony
  16. Hi eveyone just bought my first van a fleetwood heritage 640es 2005. I need some help with the water pump switch that is installed. The factory one under the battery gauge does not seam to work but lights up when switched. There is another switch on the oppisite wall that looks as if it's wired direct to the battery that seams to turn the pump on and off. I would like to get the factory switch working again so any ideas where to start would be great. It's got a shuflo pump installed with an onboard water tank. Someone has fitted a zig water gauge above the switches to the left of the sink which after removing to have a look found a 230 mains cable un plug from its connector ( it is live) now I don't know where this yellow cable goes to it goes up into the roof and after that I don't know. There is power at everything that requires it so I dont want to re connect it without finding the other end. Thank for the help
  17. help please, we have an abbey 1995 van the switch that turns on water pump lights red when the water is running, but when the tap is turned off the light stays on. tried turning the valve down no joy. wondering if its the switch or any advise what to try next. thank you.
  18. HI Can anyone supply a simple wiring diagram for a whale GP7404 with footswitch and micro switch on the cabinet below the sink. currently fitted to a Cotswold Windrush circa 1980. The pump is still in place but the wiring has been damaged partly removed and I'm trying to put it back together. It will be connected back to a PMS 4 power management unit. many thanks!
  19. I am off to Scotland on Saturday - hopefully, so would appreciate an early response! I checked the water yesterday and the pump was fine. I left the water heater on, but never git round to checking the temp. Had a look today, but now the pump will not work. I have measure the voltage at the socket, and i am getting 5V! I assume it should be 12v? I am okay at electrics, assuming some basic info. There are three wires goiing from the pump switch. On "normal" work there would be a "common" supplying v'age to the switch, and an output to the pump. The van is a 2004 Jubilee Herald. I am guessing that one wire goes to the taps, the wire returns to the common, and then the other goes to the pump. Is the neutral, actually wired to the chassis or an earth? I understand that as it is a caravan, I may be completely wrong. I am really puzzled as to why I am getting 5V instead of 12 V. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, so I bought a buccaneer Elan 14 for my first caravan, the previous owner had bought it two yrs ago and it hadn't moved since, (it's 1991) have to say it's immaculate and perfect for my needs, so got it home searched online for details on the heating system and figured it out, ye ha, set up the aqua roll, stuck the whale pump in(both came with it) connected to mains electric and nothing, no noise no water, rang a friend who brought up him wee pump to try that, still nothing, next thing no electric, must have blown a fuse somewhere, by this time it was getting late so had to forget about it, so new day and need it sorted, help please all you expert caravanners as I'm a complete beginner
  21. I'm slowly coming to the end of my tether with the van we bought Only had it a week and have taken it out for its first journey and so many things have stopped working This morning we have now got no water running, my husband filled the aquarol and it just won't work. Before he refilled it the first rol was coming out fast then stopping etc now when we try it the pump light comes on but nothing comes out, not even a sound is made. Also in the few days we have owned it we have never ever had hot water so do you think there is a problem with the pump? Can anyone help us solve our problem please?
  22. Hi all, I have just picked up an Avondale Rialto 640-6 and have a few questions that i would like your help in answering? 1. Does anyone have a soft copy of the hand book for this model? 2. There are two switches on the right hand side as you go through the door, one is for the awning light, what is the other for ? I can't seem to find it doing anything? 3. Is there a switch to turn the water pump on and off ? it seems to run all the time (not got any water connected as yet) connect 240v and pump runs, can't find switch to turn it off other than the rcd. ... 4. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this model ? Many Thanks Nick

  25. Hi, we are just in the process of upgrading our caravan and have purchased a Swift Coastline 550 2011 model. Our problem is we don't know the size of the water pump and whether it will fit into our 29litre Aquaroll. We cant collect our caravan until a couple of days before we go on holiday and time is of a premium, so Im forward thinking here. I would be very grateful for any info . Thank you
