Caravan / Motorhome / Static (Make and model)

Year of manufacture (Caravan / Motorhome / Static)

  1. Hi New to this forum but not a Troll. Not a caravan enthusiast but bought a Unicorn Vigo 2016 in October. Was advised by the dealer to go for a Swift but my tow car couldn’t manage the weight and the Vigo was just in. I bought it to live in while at work in North North Europe. Until last week I was very happy with it: Great Layout for one/two people and fully functional kitchen and bathroom. .comfortable and light and over the winter months the Aldi central heating kept me warm. However, The cold dry has disappeared and has been replaced by rain. La
  2. Hello Please could one of the helpful people on this forum advise me as to how I replace the catches on the blinds in my Unicorn Seville caravan. they have mostly broken. They are just grey bits of plastic that keep the blind and the flyscreens together. Bailey part number 1230215 I believe. I cannot see how to remove the broken bits and don't know how to fit the new ones if I buy them?? many thanks.
  3. I have a new (July 2018) Bailey Cabrera Unicorn IV. While towing it the sliding door came free from the retaining strap and one of the hangers broke. I tried to glue it together but perhaps predictably it has broken again. To avoid the hassle of getting my retailer to do what should be a very simple repair I contacted Bailey to ask if they had a spare hanger and some instructions to fit it. They basically told me to take it back to my retailer. My questions are, can I get this part elsewhere and, if I do, how do I fit it? Thank you.
  4. Hi all, We are currently in France, staying in our Bailey Valencia 2013. The caravan has been sited here for nearly a year. We’ve been here for 6 weeks this trip, without many issues. .....except bloody mice! However, I noticed a puddle on the floor yesterday. First thought was hubby has overdone the pot washing! Got up this morning, kitchen floor soaked! My Dometic fridge has just stopped working! Won’t work on electric, battery, nor gas. I have checked the fuse, checked the plug socket under the cooker. No idea what to do next, except maybe buy a fridge to
  5. Hi, I am hoping that there is someone out there, who might be able to help? I am alone in my caravan in France for the first time, (first time alone, not first time in France!). We have a Bailey Unicorn Valencia S2, which we have had since new. I am usually the one in charge of setting the Alde heating/water system, so am fairly used to it. I am plugged into the mains electric on site and have been using my Alde heating on electric without issue. Until last night! Van started getting colder and colder. Long story short, I can get the heating to work on the gas but not the
  6. Just my opinions and for discussion on a wet Cornwall day. It’s no secret that the pursuit is no more and replaced by the Phoenix so if you are in the market for a pursuit now is the last chance to find one and beat the dealer over the head with the discount hammer. Pheonix is so similar to Pegasus that it is no surprise to see Bailey are going to dip there toe in the 8 ft wide market based on the Pegasus. Personally I think 8ft wide vans are here to stay and will be a better sales success than some think, although I am probably in the minority view on that. In p
  7. Just picked up our new Bailey Unicorn Segovia and really liking it. Purchased from Raymond James Caravans who were really excellent, and I would definitely recommend them. We traded up from a Sprite Major 6, which we also loved to be fair. But the new layout on the Segovia works brilliantly now the kids are a little older - 8 and 11. Here’s why we upgraded in case it’s useful to read (as this forum was helpful to us before we bought). We are 4 days into a France holiday so have a bit of practical experience. - Layout gives sound and space separation for the
  8. The new Unicorn 3 (2015) does not come with an alarm. It has a tracker fitted so that when you notice the caravan is missing from the site, home or storage ( could be weeks ) you start to get it tracked, hopefully before it leaves the country or the tracker is removed. Then you may get it back, if you want it back. Spend over 20k and no alarm sounds daft to me, you can say goodbye to your TV, laptop, iPad, mobile phone, camera and any other belongings that could be sold at a car boot. ..
  9. Just had our Vigo go through it's 2nd service yesterday. No Damp found thankfully. Here's to another year of caravanning!
  10. This is a 2 4 1 post, you are all so lucky! I will explain how to fit your own tracker and you get a remote start for your heating. I had trouble with my S1 unicorn valencia battery going flat, found out it was the tracker battery dragging it down, there is also a small lithium batery that was at the end of its life. Not wanting to subscribe to tracker due to the expense and zero discount on many insurances, i was inclined to remove it. However the Bailey alarm is integral to the tracker system and the PIR in the living space is wireless connected to the same. On removing the batteries,
  11. Hi I have a Bailey retreat which is a great van for siting however if for any reason the site power goes off we lose all power because the Retreat does not have a battery. I want to fit a battery which with my diy skills is certainly possible but I am stuck with the PDU connections, the PDU is the sames as the Bailey unicorn so I am sure this is possible but I cannot find out if the PDU already contains a battery charger or if I need to install one. Any help will be extremely helpful.
  12. Hi everyone! I'm about to replace my Bessacarr 495 with new one about 2 or 3 years old. The top three on the list to replace it are (in no particular order) 1) (another) Bessacarr 495SL 2) Bailey Unicorn Madrid 3) Coachman VIP 520/4 The odd one out of these is the Bessacarr, because of its weight I'd opt for a 2 berth. The other two have side dinettes which is what I would really like. However I love the specification of the Bessacarr. I had just about decided to go for and have been actively looking for the Bailey. That was until it suddenly occurred to me that it has
  13. Hi All. Hoping for some help with wiring etc on the van. Its a series 1 unicorn valencia. I have issues with the leisure battery going flat. I have found the tracker and its 2 batteries. The lithium battery is at 6VDC so had it, the dry cell alarm battery is at 10VDC so not good and is dragging the leisure down i suspect. I would like to remove the tracker and its batteries, I have got a TK104 to install and would like to instal this along with the alarm and I am going t use it to remote start the alde heating. However on unplugging te tracker, I find the alarm doesnt work, the un
  14. Setting up on Sunday, I reached through the outside hatch into the under-bed locker to retrieve the power connection cable. The awning's stored in there too, so I reached over it and, as I did so, felt a slight scratch to my hand. I pulled my hand out to see a couple of score-marks on the skin that, a few seconds later, bled quite, er, enthusiastically. I had brushed my hand against the fins of the radiator that passes above the hatch access to the locker. Bummer! I bet Mr Bailey never thought of that!
  15. We're shortly taking delivery of a Unicorn Valencia 3 (our first caravan!). I've ordered a Banner Energy Bull 110Ah as the Bailey brochure said the locker would take 110Ah batteries. However, looking closer it seems the Banner is a little wider than others. Anyone know if it'll fit? For reference, the quoted battery size is 350w x 175d x 230h. Thanks - looking forward to bombarding the forums with loads of newbie questions shortly
  16. I have bought an electronic valve to change over from the under seat hand valve on the water system on my Unicorn1. I have changed the valve over and bought a switch so you don't have to lift the seats. Unfortunately I can't make it work as I have not got the right switch ie one that completely changes over. Spoke to an electical supplier who could not help but suggested a 2 position to one which might work. The switches are in mat black to match the rest so limited to what can be used. Anyone have any ideas please. The existing wires I am using are the two to the pump which was s
