  1. We recieved our new 2013 Elddis Avante 636 (badged Magnum 636GT by pearman briggs)in March, brilliant van except for the heating. Noisy on electric on any setting but try it on gas. We do a lot of rallying and CLs so running on gas is important to us. This is how it works on gas Turn on - fan runs full tilt for about 30 secs - gas fires up accompanied by a loud rumble - van reaches temperature - gas turns off but fan carries on for 3 mins at full tilt followed by a deafening silence when it turns off. Everybody falls asleep, van cools down, and whole sequence starts again. As you can imagine this results in sleep for the whole family being disturbed right through the night. Also it will run down a 110 Ah battery down in a matter of hours, as the battery drops to around 10V the gas heating wiil stop but the fan will continue. On a cold rally I had to change batteries before I went to bed and run a genny to recharge them the next day. It is that bad that we are considering changing van again before the winter. I feel that 2 simple fixes would really help 1. Put the heater under the floor to cut down noise not under the bed! 2. Have a maintenance level where once the van has reached temperature the fan and burner are reduced to keep a constant heat with little noise - I believe this is how the Truma system works. Personally, I wish we had shelled out the extra for the Crusader Tempest with the Alde heating. Is anyone else getting similar problems?
  2. Hello We've just joined CT as Trade Members and, to mark the occasion, we're offering FREE p&p* on all RugBuddy under-rug heaters and underlay ordered before Easter. *Saving you £12. The RugBuddy is a mains powered under-rug heater that, uniquely, is approved by the IEC as safe to use on any floor surface. It's the perfect accessory for your caravan or motor home and means you can be less reliant on other heaters that make the air stuffy and promote condensation. Image shows a RugBuddy, on its underlay, with the rug pulled back up to the top left corner. Courtesy of DeltaTIowner. The RugBuddy isn't specifically designed for caravans and motorhomes. It is used primarily as secondary heating for the home bringing warmth and comfort to areas where you spend your time. Place a RugBuddy on the floor, cover it with a rug and plug in, and you have 'area heating' by your favourite chair/ sofa, in the conservatory, under the home office desk, kitchen table, etc. Now, thanks to some lovely emails from satisfied customers, we also know they give great results in a caravan or motor home. This is why we have joined CT. "I am very happy with my rugbuddy … I have told people on my caravan park about them as they are perfect for static caravans. Kind regards, Lisette" (Bognor) "Really pleased with it, works perfectly in our motor home. Thanks. Ken" (Wellington) You can also read DeltaTIowner here on CT http://www. caravantalk. co. uk/community/topic/103549-under-carpet-heating/ When you order a RugBuddy don't forget to order an underlay from the website to insulate the Rugbuddy from your floor. You place the RugBuddy on top of the underlay and you cover it with your rug/ runner. The RugBuddy is fully portable so when the time comes to upgrade your caravan or motorhome you can take the RugBuddy with you. It only costs a few pence per hour to run. Here are the popular sizes and corresponding power ratings: 0. 5 x 1. 0 m (1'8'' x 3'3'') 60 Watts £65 +p&p 0. 5 x 1. 5 m (1'8'' x 4'1'') 90 Watts £81 +p&p 0. 5 x 2. 0 m (1'8'' x 6'7'') 120 Watts £92 +p&p 1. 0 x 1. 5 m (3'3'' x 4'11'') 180 Watts £107 +p&p If you also want one for your home, other sizes are available up to 1. 77 x 2. 51 m (600 Watts). RugBuddy was featured on BBC Radio 2 'Drivetime' show http://www. bewarmer. co. uk/listen-rugbuddy-interview-simon-mayo-drivetime-radio-2/ To order, please go to http://www. bewarmer. co. uk/rugbuddy-under-rug-heating/ and use coupon code CTEASTER to get free post and packing (UK only) until Easter. Please be reassured by our 30 Day No-Quibble Guarantee. Offer can be withdrawn at any time and is subject to change. Many thanks for your interest in RugBuddy. Best William BeWarmer Limited
