Hi all Does anyonw know of any outside TV-mounts for use in the awning? We are going to travel a lot, so we don't want to carry an extra table for the tv to stand on. I was hoping to find something like an Awning-rail-tv-mount as this would be a great solution for people traveling alot with their caravans. One could slide the mount into one of the rails in on the awningside of the caravan, and slide it of againg when traveling again. Anyone heard of such a thing or any other good quality outside tv-mounts? Eivind

Decided we need a TV for the van after several years without one. Driving home from Tesco's the other night I noticed a Cello TV factory shop sign, thought thats new, then I saw an ad in the CC mag for the very same. Anyone got one of these TV's and are the Ok. I am not sure I need the 12Vdc one, as we always have hook up, but you never know. I think 19 inch one may be best as the 16 inch one may be too small.

Thinking of buying a Cello TV, think again I made the mistake of buying one that has both FREESAT and FREEVIEW built in. Go to this link to watch video:- I purchased the 12 volt model for use aboard my boat the problems are as follows. REMOTE CONTROL Very poor at communicating with TV, buttons have to be pressed repeatedly. FREESAT 1. No text in Satellite mode, press text button you get sub titles! 2. In EPG mode there is no information on the channels it states NO INFORMATION 3. In EPG, CHANNEL mode you cannot select a program to watch you have to exit EPG and select channel by pressing the channel number even though it states SELECT on the screen. 4. Duplicated channels you can get up to six of the same channel in the listing makes finding a channel to watch very difficult. 5. Have to retune as channels have a tendency disappear from the listings. FREEVIEW Please see video. 1. No text even with a brilliant aerial reception. 2. In EPG, CHANNEL mode you cannot select a program to watch you have to exit EPG and select channel by pressing the channel number. These are the faults I have found, anybody had a similar experience or found any more before I contact Trading Standards? Mod Comment: Email address removed. .... contact member by PM. COMMUNICATIONS WITH CELLO Very poor you have to leave it a week then remind them to reply then they only give partial reply. If you list more than one problem per communication they will only address the first one and totally ignore any other. They try to fob you off by saying the faults are caused by weak signal. ( see video) Would all members pass this on to any website, forum, or feedback site that I may have missed? Thanks to All, Barry2945

Using Bollard provided signal
Lost in the wilderness posted a topic in Caravan TV, Radio & Satellite
Hoping the collective knowledge can help. After 20+ years of caravanning, we finally got a TV, although only used on one trip so far. We are going away to the CMC Longleat site. We know that there are TV aerial points on the bollards, but have no experience using these. Our van is a 2018 Lunar clubman (No snickering please). Fitted in the battery box is a "F" type socket. There are two "F" types in the van, as well as 2x standard aerial sockets. I know the standard aerial sockets are wired into the Status aerial on the roof (via amplifier). What I don't know is how the "F" types are wired. The handbook goes into good detail on using the on board aerial, but does not mention the "F" type sockets at all. I have seen on other posts that you can get F-type to standard convertor plugs / sockets, but not clear if / when these maybe required Now my questions are: - When using the site bollard, what type of connection is required for the bollard end Can I use the battery box "F" type as the inlet point to the van (Rather than dangling cable around the interior of the van) - if yes, I assume that an F to standard adaptor plug required inside the van - can somebody confirm this please. Will I need to swap / alter the vans wiring. Any input will be much appreciated -

Have now been our caravan twice and both times have not been able to tune in on our television. The booster has power and have tried both aerial sockets (one from the booster and one in the 'van itself. The aerial is a round omni status either 335/355 can't quite remember at present. Have tried and tried. .......and got nothing!!! Do I need any other device just to give me that edge that I need to watch TV . the TV is about 12 years old. ....is this a problem? Could it be the aerial itself?

I could have stuck this under the buccaneer 2017 thread, but then it gets a bit difficult if people try to find specific info if the thread gets too big. When we picked up our Cruiser last week, I took along the TV bracket so that they could fit it for me. Foolishly I forgot the TV, so the fitter was reluctant to fit the bracket without knowing where it should sit on the wall, so we left it. In retrospect, this was a good thing as he was going to just screw it to the wall adjacent to the door. In our Affinity 530, the bracket was on bolts with a supporting plate behind it (hidden in microwave housing) and was a really solid solution. I am concerned that the screws alone are not enough to hold the bracket. So my questions are, are the screws sufficient to hold an extending arm bracket (double arm Vision Plus), and if it needs to be bolted how easy is it to remove fridge? Cheers, Alistair

Just thought I say how pleased I was with my recent experience with Avtex support. The DVD player in our van TV packed up - wouldn't play or even eject a disc unless the TV was powered off and on again. It's been like it for a year but just not got round to investigating getting it fixed. Anyway, very pleasantly surprised by the hassle free Avtex three day pickup / repair / return service. TV has come back today working nicely. Happy. ....and so are the kids.

Sorry to post again on this subject, but this is aimed specifially at those who have although early in the 2015 caravan season taken delivery and used on site across their whole range of models any new Coachman 2015 van. Trying to establish if the change in wiring and the incorporation of a Svenson amplifier by Coachman has improved the reception in terms of problems many have experienced with pixalisation. I appreciate that there will not be many in this position at this time of year but if you can would appreciate any information, including whether or not connection has been through a site TV Bollard or you have just utilised the Avtex aerial and internal connections. Many thanks Bernard in Tring

Anyone else have the bright idea of fitting a quick release back plate to their TV so they can mount and dismount in on the super duper sliding TV thingy in the Cadiz. If you do and haven't yet tried it, make sure you've got a small TV or do some careful measurements. I got the Vision Plus plastic one, looks good, fits easily BUT and it's a big BUT - the sliding thingy is too close to the ceiling if the TV VESA mounting is in the centre of the telly - it might be ok if it's fairly close to the top. You can't lift the TV high enough to slide the two parts of the bracket together. There's no way we travel with the TV on the mounting and we didn't really intend to use the TV up in the sky but we though it would be a good place to stow it out of the way when it wasn't in use. A quick and easy way to mount and dismount it seemed just the ticket, but I'm afraid we've been thwarted by Bailey's designers again
