Hello We have just done our virgin caravan trip for two days to practise the things learnt on the caravan towing course. Our next trip is up to Kielder with two grandchildren. We are travelling from Yorkshire and will probably need a loo stop on the way with the children. Can anyone advise the best places to pull off from the A19? We don't want the hassle of manoeuvring too much this time! Also the Kielder Caravan site says 11 miles of single track to get to it - is this going to be difficult? We have quite a big Bailey and are not that experienced yet!! Thank you for your help.

From the rolling hills of Scotland to the sunny Devon coast, there is plenty to see and do whilst taking in the stunning scenery that the UK has to offer. But I’ve always dreamt of travelling farther afield. It’s surprising the places that are within easy reach; France, Spain, Italy, Belgium Switzerland, Germany etc etc etc. So many places to see, things to do and cultures to absorb. I’d like my family to grow up understanding the world does not end at the UK shore line and give them the opportunity to discover the beauty in the simple things of life that make it worth living. This is where the rest of you CT'ers come in. I’m looking for books,e-books, articles etc related to caravanning/travelling. Whether it be informative giving examples of routes and sites to stay at or a real life story of adventure that offers inspiration and dares you to explore. So, which books/e-books/articles/web site would you recommend and why?

So this winter weather is a little bit depressing and making us think of warmer climates are shores away. .. Caravanning abroad is a fun and exhilarating experience, seeing new places and touring in new areas. But where do you like to caravan abroad - a specific country or region? What attracts you there? And what great tips do you have for others that have not caravanned abroad before? -
Just wondering whether members feel that tourism authorities (on both sides of the channel) are doing enough to promote and support Campers and Caravanners who wish to holiday in Ireland or GB? I live in Ireland and this year decided to holiday at home partly due to the cost of travelling to GB or France by ferry. Having posted a topic on another forum I get the distinct impression that a significant number of Campers and Casavanners are put off travelling across the Irish Sea because of ferry cost. Above being the case, do we feel that tourism authorities could do more to apply pressure on ferry companies to make costs more reasonable, and in turn increase visitor numbers between our islands? Just interested in the thoughts of members, particularly in light of the increased number of holiday makers that are turning to Camping and Caravanning as a means of short breaks and longer holidays.
