  1. Hi, my caravan has been stood unused for a few months and the flush pump on the thetford c260 cassette toilet has stopped working. I think its the pump which has stuck as the 12 volt lights in the van dim when pressing the flush button (the battery is fully charged). Does anyone know where the pump is located or how to replace the pump/ dismantle the toilet.
  2. As I was having problems with my flush pump I decided to remove it and check it out the noise has stopped for now, but felt it would be a good idea to buy another as a spare/replacement if it decides to give up while away, I noted the code number to enable me to buy one when I returned home, but found I could not get the same ref number pump, so I decided to email Thetford Hi I hope you can help, I have a Thetford C262 toilet and the pump in my 2015 Coachman Caravan has started to play up, so I have removed it to check and record the part number, this is marked on the body of the pump – 21944, but looking at the replacements available I keep getting - 16374 as the only number available. Could you please confirm if this is the new number available as a replacement? I look forward to hearing from you soon Kind regards It looks like this question has baffled them, as they have read the email (tracked) but have not replied, I wonder how I can resend the email in a different way so they can understand and reply. .... Any suggestions please ???
  3. We're over in Brittany for a few weeks, and the Thetford fridge in our Hobby caravan has stopped working. Electrical supply seems OK (interior light is on), and gas ignites OK, but no cooling. Can anyone suggest a possible cause/solution? Thanks
  4. Morning all from a sunny Playa Barà (Spain), following on from our 12v side of the fridge not working all the way here etc. .... finally arrived in Spain on Monday set up. ... all’s well. ..... yesterday, the power went off twice for all 5 outfits in this section of the site, so, feeling rather pleased with my self that I’d switched the fridge on to gas even if was only for a couple of days until they sorted the site out. A couple of hours later. .. I thought I’d turn the fridge down slightly as not only was it a tad high but extremely hot around the vents on the side of the van !!!, within no time our electric flickered off then on and then a smell of burning for a few seconds then fridge off !!!. Now won’t turn on at all, checked fuse ok, any ideas ? Thanks
  5. So having had the van for four months, I thought I might try the electric hob for the first time. Now, as it’s new, I expected it to possibly smoke a small amount. There was no smoke around the hob, but there was smoke coming out of the vent slots directly behind the control knob. When I saw this, I turned it off. My question is, has anyone else experienced this, or is it a fault?
  6. Toilet cassette leaking at the blade opener, has anyone else had the problem and how did you fix it? The yellow or orange thing that opens the blade. I notice it while I am taking it to be emptied.

  8. Hello all, Is the piece of plastic that slides on the top of the C200 supposed to come out of its runners? I'm thinking not as it seems to get pushed out every time I put the cassette back into it's frame in the caravan. If it's faulty, what would be needed to repair it and is it easy enough for a novice? Many thanks!
  9. On hols in France following very recent toilet bowl change by dealer under warranty after original turned yellow (no idea why) after less than 10 weeks use. Emptied waste holding tank following first instance of light coming on but now it won't go out! Have tried extracting/reinserting cassette several times, gently pushing any side bits that look moveable, checked as far as poss for any loose wires adrift, turned off/on caravan master switch & looked online but so far no success/worthwhile ideas. Watched useful Youtube video of how magnetic switches in loos work only to find none of the bits illustrated appear visible in mine (but at least now understand how switch works)!! Anyone any suggestions, as attempts to delegate role of visually checking (ugh!) meeting resistance!.?
  10. After a small leak into the cassette bay, I replaced the Lip Seal and this solved the problem. It was very easy to do and the seal was obtainable from a local caravan accessory shop. The scans below are from the Thetford instructions with the seal. This one seal is for the Thetford Models C200, C2, C3, C4, C250 & C400. For models C200, C2, C3, C4 For models C250 & C400 Graham
  11. Just looking at the current Thetford catalogue for cooking and cooling appliances, it says that the Aspire Mk 2 comes with 2 oven shelves, but our new Lunar only came with one. Are we missing one or do all Aspire Mk 2s fitted to vans only come with only one shelf?
  12. I have a Thetford cooker which came fitted as original equipment in my 2009 Swift Corniche 18/4 (equivalent to a Swift Challenger, I think). The cooker has a gas oven and gas grill, and a hob with three gas rings and one electric hotplate. The hob has a glass cover, which hinges at the back. The only model number that I can find is on the left-hand side of the oven: it is CK13000, if that means anything! When lifting the glass cover, if I listened very carefully there used to be a distinct 'click' which (I am guessing) is some form of microswitch or safety device. Following the 'click', the electric hob would work when switched on, and the three gas rings would remain lit when the gas was turned on and the appropriate knob released having pressed the piezo spark mechanism. Recently, the electric ring refused to work and the gas rings would only stay lit while the appropriate knob(s) were pressed in. As soon as the knob(s) were released, the flame would go out. Opening and closing the glass cover repeatedly and listening carefully showed that no 'click' was present. Opening and closing the lid 10 or 15 times eventually results in a 'click', and the rings then work normally. If I am right and the fault lies in a microswitch located near the glass cover hinge, does anyone know how difficult is it to obtain a spare? And assuming I can get the right spare part, how difficult is it to fit? Would I have to take out the whole cooker to get at the microswitch?
  13. I saw a post somewhere about replacing the manual flush pump on a Thetford C200 CW with an electric pump. It seemed a fairly straightforward job and the results looked quite neat. Since my other half has started complaining about 'the whole caravan shaking' when I have to go during the night (it's an age thing), I thought an electric pump would improve marital harmony! I've searched on Caravan Talk and Google but can't find any reference to it. Can anyone recall seeing this post?
  14. Has anyone had trouble with their Thetford toilet bowl turning yellow? This is when van only 9 months old & been used for less than 7 weeks! Never had this problem before & dealer doesn't seem to have any answers either. Have bought (but bit reluctant to try) 'Elsan Toilet Bowl Cleaner' but we're not optimistic as it's a 'cleaner' not 'restorer'. Anyone able to supply ideas please??
  15. Ive had to access the inside of my Thetford C200CWE tank due to the fuse blowing and suspected build up of black gunge inside the tank, possibly blocking up the pump causing the 2amp fuse to blow. A 10amp fuse works fine, but thats not ideal. So I decided to inspect the pump. When watching this useful video they use a roll of paste to bond the flush panel back on. Anyone know what this is called and where I might get some please? Here's a screenshot of the video showing the paste. .
  16. Hi all. Just wanted to let anyone know, if you are going to be staying at the Kinsbury cc&c site during the period of the show, Thetford have a trial machine there which will empty, clean and recharge your toilet cassette free of charge. It's a new design Thetford have built. It has been installed on a few sites in the Netherlands, you insert your toilet cassette full, pay a pre paid credit of about £2 it will then empty it, clean it totally using a jet of water all around the inside, it also washes your top which you inserted in another part of the machine, it drains the cassette then puts in a dose of your preferred chemical, adds 2 litres of water and hands back your clean cassette to put back in your vehicle ready to go. At the Kingsbury site after cleaning and recharging your cassette free you will get s bottle of cassette tank cleaner. I had mine done this morning and it's came out like new, recharged with blue ready to go.
  17. I have just bought an Eccles Sterling Sapphire 2003. The toilet bowl drains when flap across as trialled all with pink flush. However the seal seems ok as when took out and tipped upside down etc. it did not leak. However not sure if the flap or seal. I know new seals can be bought but wondering if a spring or something that connects the sliding flap is a problem. Can anyone help or had similar issue? I will add that none of it seems to be in the wells etc of the containing locker, but seems to go into the toilet. Much appreciated.
  18. Had anyone on here had any issues with their Thetford N80 stop working on EHU. Still works fine on gas and 12v when moving Top of fridge is till getting very hot on EHU but no cooling inside. Worryingly I am told this means a new fridge as the unit cannot be repaired as its an integrated cooling unit on this model? If so then £650+ for a new one Any thoughts?
  19. Hi, Just joined the group. Having a problem with the Thetford N80E fridge in my Swift Accord 550 - 2004. Had a full gas service last year and the fitter replaced the thermocouple in the fridge. Since then the fridge door has been extrememly difficult to open. The fridge looks to be unlevel and I think it has not been put back into the hole correctly, twisting the frame enough to put the door out of line. Can anyone advise if it ok to just pull the fridge out or do I need to disconnect any fittings at the back before doing so? Also what levelling devices are used on this fridge? regards Alan
  20. HI, I am completely new to caravanning and this site. I have just spent my first weekend in my Fleetwood Sonata Melody (2004). It has what I could best describe as a Thetford bench type electric flush toilet. All was ok until it ran out of flushing water, and I am stumped as to how to refill it. I can see on the outside of the van above the waste cassette a swing out pipe that seems to be full of the pink fluid, but how do I top up the flush water. Thanks
  21. I have searched but can't find anyone reporting this particular problem. It's on a 2005 Bailey Pageant with (I think) a Thetford C200 toilet. We've just returned from a very pleasant week at Crystal Palace and the day before we left to come home the flush stopped working. I assumed the tank had run dry as I could hear the pump running so topped it up. This made no difference - pressing the button results in the pump running quite vigorously but nothing emerging from the pipe. It was working perfectly well previously. Am I right in thinking that the pump is accessible through the plate that holds the push button (I have previously had problems with this so at least now know how to get it off!)? I can't find a manual for this model of toilet on line.
  22. Hi I'm currently in Croatia, toilet flush was stuck on last night and filled the bowl luckily not enough to flood! I had to turn caravan off as flush pump wouldn't stop, I have taken fuse out this morning. I think it must be the switch stuck on but can't see obvious way to get into it! Any ideas? I have found service agents in Ljubljana which is our next stop, so may get sorted there if I can't sort!
  23. All I wanted to do was order an oven shelf for our caravan cooker. My goodness that was hard work. Struggled with Thetfords web site The sticker on the cooker says it is a CK13000. Downloaded a pdf file from a web site that does Thetford spares, a number of ranges but a CK1300 not mentioned. That's because its an Aspire CK13000 and I did not know it was from the Aspire range. Rang the dealer, said I'd just downloaded the file and was told they don't keep spares they have to order. ... what? I have not asked anything yet. Rang another dealer, they must have been away with the fairies, did not seem to understand. Rang another dealer, yes they can do them but not for a couple of weeks and they were way over £20. Rang another dealer, under £20 delivered proper Thetford part, has them in stock, 48 hour delivery. Could have waited till end of July but if it did not arrive then I would have been short of time to track one down. I've seen one go on ebay for more money. macafee2
  24. Hi my name is Vivian I would be pleased if someone could give me some advice on my Thetford Toilet. The red light on the control panel is on constantly despite having emptied and cleaned the cassette. Not a problem you might say but the toilet also does not flush. Do you think this may be a fault with the reed switch or the control panel?
