I am making / installing an automatic on-board water tank filling system to my 2009 Bailey Senator Arizona. I made one of these for my Lunar Delta about 20 years ago. Now I have another Caravan with an onboard tank I find it annoying how complicated Bailey have made it to fill the on-board tank. I have to remove the cushions from the rear locker, lift the rack, "set" two change-over valves, (correct combination, depending if I am using external, internal or filling internal from external). Then switch the electric pump to "fill", wait until it's filled, and then switch the valves as required for "operation". I looked on the market – there is NOTHING, nothing on Ebay, Nothing on “The Web”, nothing on YouTube, nothing in the Forums on how to do this… No gadgets, no advice, no discussion – maybe I’m the only one that wants this ???? I have added an Carver / Truma Crystal filter inlet into the side of the caravan directly next to the on-board tank. I will use my old Truma external pump to fit this fitting. This will fill the tank directly. I am fitting a relay (in a small plastic box to be neat) along with an "audible" alarm to warn me the external pump is operating. As my tank already has a "low level" sensor and a "high level sensor" (to stop the on-board [in fill mode] pump when full) it will be an easy job to do. I am fitting 2 switches - 1) Off/Fill to High Level 2) Fill to low level only (reserve level). If anyone is interested, I am going to document this fully with Photos on my Blog as it will be too detailed (and the photos) for here: https://tony-sparks.co.uk/blog/2019/09/13/automatic-on-board-water-tank-fill-system-tracker/ You will need to cut a hole in the side of your van to fit a Truma (or pump interface of your choice). You will need to be "capable" with 12v Electrics, and able to wire a 12v relay and a couple of switches. I *may* consider making the "control" boxes when I have finished mine - if there is any demand- but I may not! BTW: While you are about it (Bailey Senator Only) - I will tell you how to change the "ancient" battery on your (Secret Location) Tracker / Alarm system (mine was 10 years old and bulging - and was down to 2.2v!). Replacement battery - £14.50 delivered from Ebay! Any Comments ?

Hi there, Just wondering if anyone can suggest where we can get a replacement bathroom window for our 2006 series 5 Bailey Senator Carolina without having a brand new one manufactured at a cost of over £500? Cheers x Andi

I have seen similar topics but none quite answers my question. On the series 5 Bailey Senator the awning channel begins its front downward curve before reaching the point above the front end of the side window. What experience do members have as to whether a 390cm side awning/porch will clear the window (allowing for opening) or partially cover it with the wall? I am looking at steel/aluminium/fibreglass structures rather than air tubes. Thanks for any help. From a frustrated Bradcot “semi-marquee” owner looking to simplify his weekends.

Go on to Bailey's website parts section and look under security you will find the fob that will suit your van for sale at the extortionate price of £66. 99 (was £56. 99 five days ago when i had to order one because my dog decided to chew it) As for your other Question i very much doubt that you will get an answer on the forum as it is to do with security of a number of vans

Help Please!!! My Brother has recently bought a 2002 Senator checking the system we have found that the battery is not being charged via the car, power is at the plug but nothing at the terminals with a multimeter, the Hab relay is clicking and turning power off to the internal lights the 12v master switch battery condition status gauge when left in the on position drops to zero. Removing the battery terminals with the car connected does not provide power from the car, so question is could the Hab relay be faulty even though it is cutting the power but not allowing car power to charge battery? Not able to prove power is reaching the fridge as no lights are fitted to fridge control panel, so the next job is to remove fridge and test the wires there and while I am at it will fit 12v & 240v led lights. Hope some one can point me in the right direction (all fuses are OK in the panel, could there be another fuse some where?? Thanks

Aussie Needs Help - Bailey Senator 6 - Not Charging On Ehu Or Towing
Guest posted a topic in Caravan Repairs and Restoration
Hi everyone, An Aussie here who needs your UK caravan experience. I have a 2008 Bailey Senator 6 Louisiana. Well I have taken the time out to read a number of forums on the problems with Baileys having their BCA charger fail and not charge when on EHU and I believe I am another statistic of this. Very weird problem of no EHU battery charging, yet power supply inside the caravan to all 12v systems. So I have read many recommendations about another UK provider Amperor offering a replacement option to the BAC unit, however, after contacting them it is about GBP80 for the charger and GBP100 for postage to Australia so I am looking to replace it in Australia with a Projecta IC2500 which offers a 7 stage charger and 25amp power supply with a remote that can be mounted up near the existing 12 volt electric control switches in the Bailey. I believe this will solve the EHU charge and power supply problem. However, I have a further problem in that I believe my battery is also not charging and possibly the fridge isn't getting power either when connected to the tow vehicle. I have done a heap of reading on this topic and about habitation relays etc so I would like to explain my installation and I am seeking your help please. I have run 6B&S cable from the battery to the rear of the vehicle and I am getting 13. 88 volts at the rear of the car with the engine running. The car battery is isolated by a 150amp continuous solenoid that is ignition switched and the ex-12S plug wires of Green (positive), White (Negative), Red (Positive), Black (Negative) are connected via the large cable pins on a Narva flat 12pin plug directly to this cable. So when the ignition is on solenoid is off - no power to Green and Red for Fridge and Battery feeds - all other trailer lights are functional via the other 7 pins on the Narva flat 12pin plug. To test the charging of the battery from the tow vehicle - battery out of caravan - I put a multimeter on the caravan battery cables and lifted the car revs to about 1500rpm producing 13. 88 volts at the tow connection, however, zero at caravan battery cables. My reading of the forums tells me that 13. 88 volts should have been enough to trigger habitation relay and send charge to the battery but this did not happen. I have checked fuses in the Bailey PDU - both Battery 15amp and Fridge in tact. Do I need to have battery in circuit for the charge test? How do I test that fridge is actually getting power on 12v? Do you think I might have a faulty habitation relay? If so, are these easy to test and replace or does this require a whole new PCB? Should I work to bypass all this switching and install a separate C-tek DC-DC charger into the circuit to charge the caravan AGM battery while towing? If I do above, how do I ensure fridge gets power supply that is also switched via this relay? Same sort of by-pass? The challenge I have is that the electrics method with the habitation relay etc common to the UK is quite unusual over here and I'm struggling to find reasonable support out of local auto electricians. I am not an electrician so I hope I have provided enough background info regarding my situation above for you to offer some thoughts regarding any further testing I should do to diagnose further or solutions. -
I have just purchased a 2009 Senator Indiana, the battery is only a few months old, has been fine, left over the last few weeks it now looks according to the on-board meter that it has almost flattened. I have had the mains plugged in at home for a couple of days but it still hasn't brought it back to over 12Volts, do you have to have any of the main board switches on to charge - any other advise i. e. putting a car battery charger on for a few hours

Hi, Just started doing the washing up this morning before starting off for home and put half drunk cup of coffee down the sink. Wife was outside and shouted that something was dripping out the bottom of the van. On looking closer it seems fairly obvious that the waste pipe from the sink has come detached or has a leak. My question is how do I get at the bottom of the sink to investigate? Do I have to take the oven out? Thanks in anticipation for any help you can give.
