  1. Hi, I was looking at inline booster pumps and wondering if I added one before the water inlet for my shower if it will increase the pressure coming through the shower head? If anyone has any information I would much appreciate it! Thanks, Ross.
  2. Can anyone help please. Just going on first trip of the season and find a problem with the fresh water not being received into the interior water tank. The symptoms are as follows: 1. Using the Aquaroll and exterior pump the pump works but no water is received in to the caravan 2 Using a direct water supply, with valve and correct fitting, again no water is received to the interior. 3 Interior pump works and all taps. 4 The interior pump can be heard working when the tank should be filling up 4 a small metal fitting (a relay?) gets hot Nearest service is 70 miles away. Recently serviced and water system checked!!! Off on holiday on Wednesday to Plymouth! Any suggestions please
  3. Hi all, yes it’s me again with another question, this time it’s the trauma thingy pump that goes into the aquaroll, we have a 2017 Lunar Clubman SR, currently sitting in a lovely site in Kent, although the weather is rubbish. Every time we turn the water on there is a thumping sound coming from the area where the water pipe work comes into the van, directly below the seat. It can be stopped by turning the white valve which controls the pressure, but after a a time or two it starts again, if I increase or decrease the pressure the pump simply runs on, the water here is extremely limey, two questions if I may has anyone out there experienced this problem and if so do you know what’s causing it? As always from one inexperienced caravaner to you gods of caravaning out there
  4. I have the yellow pump as shown below and the last time I tried to use it stopped every time it went from high volume to high pressure, tried adjusting the pressure setting but no change. It is out of warranty so I was thinking about taking it apart and having a poke around even if I have to rewire it to take the pressure switch out. Anybody had one apart? Ian
  5. This tip is for those with the Alde 3020 'wet' central heating system with the impeller pump in the header tank. When it's time for the Alde 3020 coolant to be replaced and you are bothered by the noise of the impeller pump in the header tank, which is often located in a cupboard by the bed, consider upgrading the pump at the same time. I decided to swap the impeller pump for the inline unit fitted to the boiler. Well worth the effort and no more disturbed nights' sleep. However, I did the job myself after having the Alde fluid replaced so, I did it without draining the system down. This probably added two hours to what is a relatively easy job, due to having to clamp pipes very carefully to prevent a major fluid spillage. Despite my best attempts, I still lost about a litre onto the caravan floor which, I was desperately trying to avoid. Fortunately I'd got lots of old towels to catch the spills so, no damage done. It would have been so much easier on a drained down system
  6. Hi. I am a rank novice at this having just purchased a used, delightful 2 berth, Castelton 2 door Roamer. Having had it on the driveway for a day or two we tried the water system out and, although the pump seems to make pump noised no water is being drawn from the tank. All piping checked and seems in really good condition. Checked for blockages and found none. All the right things are in the right place. So the question is this. The pump would appear to the be original dated at 1991 so I suspect the diaphragm may have gone so I am considering replacing it, unless one of you wonderful people have a suggestion. It seems a replacement could be quite inexpensive but there is nothing on the casing which suggests what PSI I should have. Clearly it is a 12v, 3amp but there is no model number to try and compare any like for like replacement. Many thanks in anticipation. Mark.
  7. Please can anydvise on how to modify our very noisy water pump. Many Thanks Stu
  8. Im away in Devon in my caravan and have concerns that my Truma Ultraflow external pump is often running on after the tap is turned off. It can run sweetly for a few days, then intermittently start to run on for short or long periods. The pump was stored coiled too tighly last winter and I susupect I may have kinked the pipe, especially as it has been bent a bit too much a few times when inserting into an aquaroll. Any help would be greatly appreciated for a relaxed holiday! The taps occasionally splutter a little, but not regularly when turned on and I presumed it was because the water was a little too hot rather than sucking in air. I had a lot of fiddling with the pressure regulator earlier in the year to stop it clicking when the tap is turned off, but it still does it occasionally. The pump hose is a very tight fit into the external intake socket, despite lubricating the o rings with oil, so I cant imagine it is sucking in air there and cant seen any cracks on the intake socket. I could buy a new pump, but dont want to waste money if it doesnt fix the problem. Can I ask - 1. Is it normal for the Ultraflow pump to click a bit, run on a bit sometimes and occasionally run for a second or two for no reason in the night, or should it be smooth and sweet? 2. Would a kink in the pump external pipe cause these problems? 2. Is there a Whale pump that is compatible to the Truma Ultraflow intake socket on a 2009 Lunar, with a trigger connector? Thanks very much for looking.
  9. Hi, this is my first post and I'm relatively new to caravanning! I have a Ace Jubilee 2003 caravan and I'm having problems with my pump. Recently had the van serviced and whilst it was being serviced I got told I need a new pump as my one was broken at the intake valve and was letting water back in and this was causing the pump to run automatically. Bought a new pump. ..SAME PROBLEM! I've disconnected the microswitches on the bathroom sink tap and the kitchen tap but cant get access to the shower switch. No joy. Its on EHU but ive been told my leisure battery is faulty so ive re-ordered that, but would this make my pump continually pump??? Any help is really appreciated! Kind regards Graeme
  10. I own an Elddis Affinity 2013 model, I want to change the central heating water but I cannot see any way to drain the system, there is nothing poking through the floor with a bung in it, as far as I can see, the only thing that spring's to mind is, can you only drain this system with the aid of the Alde pump?
  11. Our water pressure appears to have nearly all but deminished. The pump runs, seems ok, sounds ok, but not much pressure. Any ideas would be appreciated. Someone suggested we should see if the filter is blocked but we can't work out where the filter is. Thank you Vicky
  12. We have an Avondale Dart and for the last 2 trips the water pump has not worked. The way in works (in non-technical speak) is that sucks water up into an internal tank and then when you switch the tap on, the water comes through. It is still sucking the water up as the level in the water container goes down, but then it does not come out when we switch on the taps. When we flick the switch to drain the internal tank (under the front seat), it all comes out again under the caravan. Can anyone suggest what the problem is and the fix? Would like to do it this weekend. Thanks
  13. Do many of you carry a spare water pump? I used to when it was an external in the Aquaroll pump, but haven't since I changed the van to one with an on-board one. Thanks for your advice Dave
  14. Hi. I hope someone can help. Purchased a 1999 Elddis Firestorm. Everything's great apart from the fact I can't get any running water. Bought a new pump, but it's not that. Light for pump doesn't come on either. All other electrics are working fine. Does anyone know if there's anything else I should have done - i. e. , is there something else on the van I should have turned on first? Any help very gratefully received.
  15. Hi, I'm new to caravanning only starting last year but seem to have a fault with the water pump/system which seems to be intermittent, more often than not now intermittent! I'll try and give as much detail as possible, apologies if I provide too much or not enough. The caravan is an Abbey Aventura 330 and is fitted with a Whale high flow pump and what I can see from the internet a Truma Crystal 2 connection to the caravan. The pump connection to the caravan has a small diameter hole with a rubber 'o' ring to prevent leaks and 2 bullet connections for the 12v feed. It also has 2 plastic blades to secure to the van when in use. The back end of last year the caravan was used for a week on 1 campsite drawing water from the aquaroll which was filled manually by myself. Everything worked fine. It then travelled to another campsite for a few extra days which is when the problems started to happen. The pitch was a serviced and water was supplied to the aquaroll via the ball float system shutting off as necessary when full. From here the pump started to work intermittently, not providing enough water to any of the taps. When the pump activates it provides a trickle to the taps and then makes a high pitched 'whirring' noise as if the aquaroll role is diminished of water, which it isn't. To solve the problem I held the hose to the van and operated the taps with water coming out at effectively at mains pressure to remove any air locks. I also removed any air from the pump. Removed the ball float and re-filled the aquaroll manually. Sometimes after this is carried out it will work briefly then the familiar high pitched whirr again, sometimes no joy at all. I have striped the pump, cleaned all the electrical connections, checked for any splits in tubing and checked all the jubilee clips - all ok. Since that date the caravan was put away in to storage until a few weeks ago where it was placed on our drive to be cleaned and tested for the new season. It was here that I tested the pump again as I believed I had a faulty pump. However the pump worked fine drawing 3 to 4 aquarolls full of water without any problems. The van was connected to the domestic electrical connection. Not having enough evidence to warrant a new pump we used the van again fully enough on the same site where the problems started. I managed to fill the heater up with water and then nothing. Sometimes it would work for 30 seconds then stop, other times it wouldn't provide a drip. My question is this, if it was a faulty pump then why would it work perfectly at home? I was possibly thinking of the electrical supply at the site (sorry I don't know the supply). I also read that you can adjust the voltage to the pump, usually on the rear of the water connection inside the caravan however I don't believe the van to have one just the water supply pipe and 2 wires for the voltage supply. The caravan is now stored at the site so unfortunately I cant just 'nip' to check things and also making it more important to source the fault. Any feedback would be great.
  16. Hi There. I have an Abbey Domino 1998. I can't get the pump to work. I have checked the pump on the battery and it works fine. I have checked the voltage at the pump connection which is also the pressure valve and it seems to be 12. 4 volts. When I plug in the pump the red light on the panel goes out which i think means it is up to pressure which obviously is not. Any help or test pointers would be brilliant. Thanks again.
  17. Firstly hello all. ..I am new to CT and relatively new to caravanning, hence the next question. ..it may be obvious. Hope I don't embarrass myself. I went away in the van this weekend and gave it the prep for the season. When fitting the pump I did the usual. .. Fill the aqua roll, add Milton tablets, submerse pump, connect, run taps, turn off taps and adjust pressure. I only partially filled the aqua roll as we were not staying long and I had taken some water to drink due to sterilising the system. After a little use and when the aqua roll was about a third full the pump refused to work, no water from taps. Checked the connection, couldn't see any reason so added more water and it worked, why is this? thank you in anticipation of reply and completion of my first topic.
  18. HELP! We have a Bailey Unicorn Valencia S2. The pump doesn't seem to be working correctly, feels like there is an airlock in the system all the time. It used to do this a lot but was easily cured after running a lot of water through. Now, nothing works! The water is Not pumping through properly, lots os sitters and spurts and then the pump doesn't turn off. We have to switch the pump off at the mains after every use. ...most annoying! The worst of it is, we have just collected it back from it's annual service! We are away for a week, on a serviced pitch, which I can't make use of! Please help! Regards, Julie
  19. Hi all. I recently bought a Abi Marauder Gold 450et. After hooking everything up today to check everything worked I noticed that the whale watermaster pump wasn't working. I took it inside to check it with a 12v supply and it worked which led me to believe the problem is inside the van somewhere. I checked the voltage across the terminals on the socket with a tap turned on and all I get is 0. 3v. This is my first caravan so have no idea where to start looking and any help would be greatly appreciated. The taps are microswitch controlled if that helps. Many thanks in advance. Aaron
  20. Hello Folks, I'm after some more advice please. My water pump seams to be running all the time. Can it be the pressure switch? Also I'm after some info on the heater. When I turn it on, I hear the heater ticking until it lights, but the water isn't getting very warm. regards, Andy
  21. Morning All, After a few hiccups managed to get our caravan water system up & running. ...now have a few q's re electrics! A friend who is an electrician has wired us up to the mains (as it is a permanent sited caravan), we have no battery connected or gas. ..so our only power source currently is mains electric! BUT the question is. .. Does anyone know the reason why. ... When we first flicked onto the 12v two lights (the kitchen ceiling one & the bathroom ceiling one) worked (whereas they didnt work previously) Then when we clicked off of that & back onto the 12v our water pump started to work! (now the lights however wont lol) Anyway is this common & what is the reason for this, and the difference between 12v and the other setting? Our friend the electrican left it set up on the other setting (nor 12v) so we are reluctant to switch to 12v & leave it on that. ...as we would assume he left it on the most advisable setting. Can anyone shed any light on this. ... Thanks
  22. I am off to Scotland on Saturday - hopefully, so would appreciate an early response! I checked the water yesterday and the pump was fine. I left the water heater on, but never git round to checking the temp. Had a look today, but now the pump will not work. I have measure the voltage at the socket, and i am getting 5V! I assume it should be 12v? I am okay at electrics, assuming some basic info. There are three wires goiing from the pump switch. On "normal" work there would be a "common" supplying v'age to the switch, and an output to the pump. The van is a 2004 Jubilee Herald. I am guessing that one wire goes to the taps, the wire returns to the common, and then the other goes to the pump. Is the neutral, actually wired to the chassis or an earth? I understand that as it is a caravan, I may be completely wrong. I am really puzzled as to why I am getting 5V instead of 12 V. Any help would be appreciated.
  23. I have recently bought a whale aqausource mains water hook up pipe for my series 2 Pegasus. It says that it is not suitable for pumps with an inlet strainer, could anybody tell me if this is fitted please? Thanks.

  25. Hi everybody, we own a ACE jubilee Statesman 2004 with the ESM4 / ECM. As we are living in Bavaria, Germany, there is no service to help me. Problem is: We had a defective cable (shortage) to the kitchen water tab. Meanwhile I isolated this cable. But I imagine, that there is maybe blown a fuse in addition. All known carvan fuses had been checked with a meter. We have all other 12V devices (radio, lamps . ..) running without problem. But no water pump is running. Seems, that all internal devices from ESM4 / ECM works fine . .. but only the pump switch on ECM shows no light, if a water tab is activated. Question: is there any Fuse INSIDE ESM4 / ECM that is responsible for sourcing this switch (pump)??? Where else are fuses for the pump? Or do youu have any other helpful hint?? Thanks a lot for your kind help! With best regards Joe
