Recently purhased a 2109 Laser 675 and I am delighted with it, but....I have a fault that others may have experienced. When I switch on all of the lights in the lounge area I start to hear a fan within the power supply unit constantly stopping and starting. If I switch on all caravan lights the fan then runs constantly, Contacted the dealer and they sent a technician out who determined the fan was faulty and replaced it with a new one. The techician informed me that the fan is to keep the battery charger cool. This appeared to have fixed the fault but noticed this weekend that the stopping / starting issue has returned. I am sure all Coachman's are fitted with the same power supply unit, Does anyone know if this is a common fault? Has anyone experienced the same issue? Gary

I've just made myself a power supply for my basic satellite finder (The needle and buzzer type). I've put some pictures in the gallery and hope this link works? For those who want to know exactly which satellite you are looking at don't look any further as this is not for that type of finder. This is simply to enable me to take the dish out and find the best location in 'marginal' sites where there may be trees or a hedge in the way etc. It's also for those who are good at finding the correct satellite already using a good old compass and or knowing where SW is and turning it south until you get the first hit. Any way, just thought I'd share. Cost me about £7 including the batteries.

Job done. Simply connect the "F" connector to the input of the satellite finder and it will supply power to the LNB without having to be connected to a TV or Set Top Box. Ideal if you need to test a few locations for signal first. -

I put some old bubble wrap on top to prevent the batteries bouncing around and potentially damaging the connectors etc. -

Attach an "F" connector at the other end of the coax. -

Drill a hole in the side of the container and push the coax through from the inside. Attach a cable tie to the coax so that it can't be accidentally pulled all the way through, or disconnect the cables etc. -

Take a short piece of coax cable and connect the inner core to the pos side, and the outer windings to the neg side as shown. -

With a couple of 9v battery terminals connect them together as shown. (In Serial so you have 18v at the separate pos and neg ends. -

Start with a cheap small clip container. This was one of about 6 or 8 from the 99p shop! -
So earlier this year I treated myself to a pair of radio rear view/reversing cameras. Now one of them operates as a reversing camera on the tug and is fine. The other one is a rear view camera for when the van is in tow (yes I do have Grand Aero towing mirrors fitted as well) The present van is not fitted with a habitation relay (1992 vintage) so it was no problem to pick up a supply from a nearby light supply and install a 12V plug/socket to power the camera. But the next van will have a habitation relay making this solution unworkable! So to provide a supply I have a couple of options 1/ Extend wiring from the fridge supply to the camera to operate it when to engine is running, this has a number of advantages but I'm a bit unsure about routing the cable as I'm to too sure about possibly drilling holes in the floor to route it. (as we have a rear center mirror the camera just sits at the bottom of it. 2/ Purchase a small 12V alarm battery to operate the camera and charge it up before journeys from the 12V system or a dedicated charger, being aware tat it will need a lower charge current than the main leisure battery. Thoughts?
