  1. Morning all, first post here. We're currently in an old 34' Atlas Woodland static while we build a house. I'd really like to add a small temporary porch awning for boots, waterproofs etc. Nothing fancy, expensive or rigid. Are they available? Can't see anything suitable online. Cheers.
  2. Has anyone used a smaller awning size on a larger van (apart from porch awning) ?
  3. Hi all, I have a 1994 Lunar Meteor 2 berth that we are looking to get a porch awning for. We tried a Kampa Rally 260 on it over the weekend but due to the low rail height (215cm) there was a lot of sag. Does anyone know of an awning that would fit? Thanks
  4. Hi Everyone, I have a new idea on a caravan awning, its nice to have the extra space to eat and play games. ... My idea is a solid awning, more like a solid porch or summer house made from insulated walls and roof with large glass frontage. They would be owned by the caravan site and be available to rent. What is it that makes having an awning for the week so much better, also what do you dislike? Best Wishes Mark
  5. Have we done the right thing? Just purchased a Dorema Quattro 380 from the Caravan show. http://www. dorema. co. uk/de/porch%20awnings/quattro_380. htm The thinking behind this is as follows. Full awnings can be a bit of a struggle to erect so looking for a bit less work. Lightweight awnings, of which we have had a few, too many pegs and guy ropes and restricted use in poor weather. Wanted as large a porch as we could so it fitted our Valencia without interfering with the side lockers. Despite its name this one is 360 wide, think it will just miss the underbed locker but we can live with that. Also wanted one that would be interchangeable for future vans. At £594 seemed a reasonable discount. (And a lot cheaper that some). Has anyone got any experience of this awning, re-erecting the heavier than average frame, practicality, use on sloping ground etc. (I considered a blow up one but believe they are poor on sloping ground). I could still change it for an Omega XL with fibre fame for about the same price but that will interfere the underbed locker as it is only 340 wide. http://www. dorema. co. uk/de/porch%20awnings/laser_and_omega_xl. htm John
  6. Hi all, Very new to this game, but can somebody tell me if an Isabelle Senator is a porch awning. I have seen a very decent looking one on ebay and from the photos it looks like a porch but then states it is a size three. I have a 2002 Sterling Europa 480/2 and I am after a quality porch. Seeing as this one will be shipped from Poland I am hesitant to progress without being sure. I am of the understanding that Isabelle is a good buy and if so don't want to lose out. ...Thanks
  7. im not sure how to size an awning for the porch type. the van takes an awning of 835cm according to info ive found on google but how does a porch awning fit. and how do the sides seal against the caravan. does the porch awning fit as far back as it can on the van awning rail so right side of awning is fitted entirely in the rail or do both sides just habng free. hope it makes sense.
  8. This product was created to seal porch awnings which suffer with a gap between the pole and the caravan, allowing draughts and bugs etc inside the awning, it is inflatable, made from strong PVC. Buy directly from amazon http://www. amazon. co. uk/gp/product/B00DBZN2MY http://www. awningdraughtexcluder. co. uk
  9. Hi, Thinking about one of these for winter weekends. Has anyone any experience of this particular model? Thanks!
  10. Solution Awnings' draught excluder fits either side of your porch awning poles, next to your caravan/campervan. Once inflated it cushions the pole against your caravan, creating a draught free environment. It will help to protect your awning from wind damage, whilst making your porch awning much cosier inside. The cushioning of your poles means that there is no longer any noise of poles banging against the side of your van, or any worry that they may be damaging your van. Very easy to put up and take down, it is the perfect solution for anyone with a porch awning. It is made in the UK from high quality PVC. Prevents poles from banging into the side of your caravan/campervan. Turns your porch awning into a cosy area. Lightweight and easy to store. Simply inflate to seal the gap between your porch awning and caravan/campervan. Stops wind & rain getting in, and pets from escaping. http://www. amazon. co. uk/gp/product/B00DBZN2MY http://www. solutionawnings. co. uk
  11. We really like the look of this awning but Isabella says it's not a perfect fit for my van (2013 challenger sport 514). Now they say the reason can be it cuts a window, fouls the door, etc etc. but they can't specifically say what bit won't fit. Now I don't mind if it cuts a window so all I can think of is that it may be the piece of triangular material at the base of the rear leg pad that could cause the problem. I called Isabella and the nearest display model is in Nottingham and I'm in Plymouth so that's a very long drive. Does anyone on here have one of these and if so, is this piece very large? Regards Simon
  12. So often as we upgrade and change vans to a bigger better model the awning size raises it's ugly and expensive head. A lot of people seem unaware that you can use a normal full size Isabella awning as a Porch or part awning. After having been told how, by one of their staff in 2000, we have been using ours in just such a way. It works and this awning has now been used on three vans. HOW TO DO IT IS SHOWN BY THEM ON THEIR WEB SITE http://www. isabella. ...ns/fitting. html. They show it using the vans existing awning channel on one side but we use two clamping poles identical to the Magnum and Porch system and just position it on the van where we want it. Yet again when on site this week-end we were asked by two couples how we did it. Because of the number of times we have been asked I have raised it again as a subject, in the hope that it can save some members some money. We find it a very good system. You will have to buy the poles and pads kit that hold it against the van, either one or two dependent on you configuration, but these are cheaper than a new awning. Of course if you have an isabella porch, as we do already, then you can use the poles from that and they will happily sell you the pads etc so it's even cheaper. It may work with other makes as well but I can't comment
