  1. Good evening everyone, After much dealer window shopping, we have settled on a Pegasus GT65 Verona. 2013-2015 models. Ticks almost every box for us. There seem to be quite a few around so we will have to put the miles in to find the "One"... So looking to get an idea of things that are known or issues that I should be on the look out for? For example I've noticed these can have a panel on the lower front and rear that has a seal across it, 2 of the 3 I saw today the seal was perishing and didn't look at all waterproof. Is this a huge issue? I'd assume that the front body panel continued under the applied panel so wouldn't be an water ingress issue? Would also be good to hear from current or previous owners of there experiences with this van too. Thanks in advance as always!
  2. Released to day. Details of the new Pegasus Grande, 8ft wide. Now available on the Bailey Web site. https://www. baileyofbristol. co. uk/caravans/pegasus-grande Will be on show at the NEC according to Bailey.
  3. Just my opinions and for discussion on a wet Cornwall day. It’s no secret that the pursuit is no more and replaced by the Phoenix so if you are in the market for a pursuit now is the last chance to find one and beat the dealer over the head with the discount hammer. Pheonix is so similar to Pegasus that it is no surprise to see Bailey are going to dip there toe in the 8 ft wide market based on the Pegasus. Personally I think 8ft wide vans are here to stay and will be a better sales success than some think, although I am probably in the minority view on that. In practical towing terms it makes little difference and I think you will see a developing field where more 8ft tourers are used a mini statics in the future. The Unicorn which is by far the biggest seller will stay more or less as is for the October show. There will I’ll also be more dealer specials about. Motorhomes. The Aliance range to fit in with the Advance and Autograph. Let’s face it it’s an expanding market given the drive for lighter, zero emissions vehicles so that makes sense. If you can develop a zero emission van the converting to a motorhome is simple. Zero emission vehicles. In 20 years time will be predominantly hydrogen based either by liquid pump as lpg is now, or by extracting it from water by nano tech or fuel cell. We shall see .
  4. Two year old Pegasus Verona. Towards the end of last year, in the middle of the night there was a loud bang, that woke up everyone in the van. The bang was not repeated and there didn't appear to be any damage inside or out. This happened every night of our trip. Being towards the end of the year, the heating had been on, in the evening, but had been switched off hours before. Heating worked fine next day. This happened every night over two trips (about 12nights). Queried Bailey over this, but were little to no help ( get your local Approved Service Centre to check your heating). Can't see them sitting until 2 or 3 in the morning waiting for a bang! Bailey said they haven't had any other similar reports. Wondering if anyone else out there has had anything similar occurring. Or any suggestions - besides earplugs! (And ghosts) Thanks for reading.
  5. My Bailey Pegasus GT65 has suffered a puncture to the front fibreglass skin due to stone damage exposing the inner polystyrene insulation. I cannot use a resin based repair product for fear of 'melting' the insulation and was thinking of using a water based filler. Has anybody had experience of this type of repair?
  6. Current Bailey Pegasus 4 Brindisi owner, caravanner for 30 plus years and 10 of those as seasonal in S Wales. Had a string of Baileys and various towcars over the years. Found caravantalk by accident whilst looking for owners with similar 'issues' and found the entries interesting. I hope to be able to make interesting and valuable contributions ( not cash of course ) particularly on my pet subject of 'Bailey'.
  7. My Peg 1 is now 5 years olds so I have been idling some time away on the net trying to find some prices with no success. The load index of the tyre size seems to max out at 102. The tyre size is 185 R14 LI104. Any suggestions where I could find this size gratefully received.
  8. Hi could anyone recommend a porch awning for a pegasus 514, that doesn't cover the kitchen window thanks
  9. Hi all, Pegasus 624, although the fitment is common to many Baileys. Anyone know how to remove the angled corner piece that houses the Carver Heater controls, TV Aerial socket, 12V socket and mains socket? I'm guessing that if I remove the top and bottom boxes (Carver and 230V) I'll find some hidden screws but figured it doesn't hurt to ask first. Thanks, Tony
  10. On Wednesday 23rd October between the hours of 8. 45am and 3pm my caravan was stolen from the driveway of my house on The Weston Road(near to the County Showground), Stafford. Despite being secured the caravan was removed, we assume by thieves who planned the theft and arrived with suitable equipment and tools needed to circumvent the locks. The experience has understandably left our family somewhat perturbed and upset. Following the theft, we provided a statement to the Police who duly issued a crime number. We also reported the theft to CRiS, the national register for UK touring caravan owners and our insurer. The return of the caravan is secondary to me. What is most important is the individual(s) responsible for this theft are brought to account. This is why I am offering a bounty of £5,000 in cash to the person who provides information leading to the successful arrest and prosecution of the person(s) concerned. The caravan is a 2011 model Bailey Pegasus 2 Ancona. The serial number of the caravan is CRiS/VIN: SGBSV02BYBPS03410. The serial number is marked on the windows of the caravan and on the chassis itself. Here is a link that shows the same model of caravan concerned:- http://www. caravantimes. co. uk/features/makes/bailey/pegasus-series-ii/reader-review-bailey-pegasus-series-ii-ancona-$21380630. htm If you see the caravan or have information regarding it you can contact Staffordshire Police on 101 (crime number FZ/59334/2013). Please pass this post on to as many people as you can
  11. Had our Pegasus GT65 Genoa six weeks, used 2x 10 days - it’s just brilliant. Everything is great, we’re so pleased with it. Well designed and constructed, ‘tardis’ like, so light and airy inside, the first word from everyone we’ve invited in is “Wow!”. I just sat down and, with no effort wrote 20, exceptional aspects we relish! The last six weeks have been warm so we’ve tested but not really needed the Whale underfloor heating but the fan noise level is appears acceptable. Together with a great Bailey dealer and two very appropriate responses from Bailey Customer Service we are now totally committed to Bailey Caravans. It’s a perfect van for a couple who don’t want to lug a fixed bed space and weight around see my review http://www. caravantalk. co. uk/community/page/caravan-reviews/_/bailey/pegasus-gt65-genoa-r95
  12. Hi everybody, I am looking for a Bailey Pegasus 646, if anyone is interested in selling please let me know, nearest location to Scotland the better. Thanks
  13. This months (May) Caravan Club Mag has test report on the GT65 Rimini for anyone thinking of buying this model. It is available on line if you can log in to the caravan club site. http://www. caravanclub. co. uk/media/12727216/ccmmaycaravantest. pdf?type=archive
  14. Hi All i have just picked up my van from service and wondered how a damp test was done in the shower room i have a mk1 2010 pegasus 534 owned from new i don't know if this has been discussed before but i am curious as to how the test is performed, is the wall removed from the shower to gain access to the floor or is the shower tray lifted or both these things, the check sheet indicated no damp across the rear but some damp in the o/s front locker and is to be remedied when the parts arrive at the service agents. Terry
