Just reading about payload etc, WHAT do people consider " the basics" to take with them?. I have been completely staggered by a friends tale of someone on a site piling a 42" tele out in the awning and a sofa!!! . . CONFESSIONS please
Just enjoyed ten days away in our new Pegasus Genoa, absolutely brilliant van. Prior to this first trip wanted to know what Bailey included in the MRO so I could adjust the payload weight. Over a weekend I asked on this forum and thanks to all who replied. I also sent an email to Bailey and on Monday received a prompt, and helpful, reply: “MRO means Mass in Rolling Order…. This is basically the dry weight of the caravan as it leaves the factory. Included in this weight would be all the standard items fitted to the caravan ie. Microwave, radio, TV, 25 meter mains cable, plastic washing up bowl, wheel spanner, corner steady handle + approx 29 kgs allowance for Gas cylinders(18kgs) 90% water tank capacity (8kgs) Toilet fluid flush (2kgs) other essential fluid (1kg).” It was particularly helpful to know the gas allocation as we only take one Calor Gas Lite bottle with us. But it does beg the question why don’t Bailey, and other manufacturers include this breakdown in their handbooks? There have been so many questions on this topic on CaravanTalk, don’t they read the forums and realize that withholding this information causes problems?
