Hi CT users, my first post (somee great content and posts I've read so far). title says it all really, I'm after little gems of ideas or others experience of common remedies for problems caused by run off or escape water ingressing at weak points such as locker seals, window seals. I've seen the Fiamma drip stop product (adhesive strip) but doesn't look like a longterm solution for its cost. j strip drip stops, bars or rubber of-the-shelf products or diy improvisation. Even seen tile edging/beading (e.g. B and Q type stuff) on YouTube being used (though ugly). Thanks in advance and hopefully others would benefit too.

Just returned to caravanning after 25 years and bought a lovely used Bailey Pegasus Rimini All is great apart from the barrel of the lock to the 'wet' locker, which pulls out and even when its pushed in doesnt seem to turn the lock On the inside of the door, directly behanind the lock is a small panel with what appears to be a keyhole in it I was going to look in to see if a securing clip may have come away, but dont want to break it if a key is required Anyone experienced this? Solutions?

Three years ago I was in the fortunate position of being able to afford to buy a brand-new caravan. With no previous experience of caravanning I naïvely thought that the service provided by caravan dealers would be broadly similar the service provided by franchised car dealers. I further expected that the customer service provided by caravan manufacturers would be similar to that provided by car manufacturers. How wrong I was! In my book when you spend £20,000 plus on something it’s reasonable to expect that it will stand up to normal use for a period of at least five years, maybe even ten, before the product starts to show signs of significant deterioration and age. Having carried out much research before deciding which brand of caravan to buy we were persuaded by Lunar’s claims of “lightweight luxury”. On paper at least the van offered what we were looking for, was a good tow match for my XC60 and looked amazing. For the first year we were very pleased with our gleaming white “home from home” Since then unfortunately it’s been ongoing catalogue of problems, mainly cosmetic but nonetheless irritating. Discolouration of various parts of the van has been the main problem, locker surrounds which have turned sort of magnolia colour (Not a good look unless you have a Bailey), the shower cubicle, grab handles (again the magnolia effect), decals which have a blistered, and so on. Representations made to the dealer have fallen on deaf ears. In my experience at least Lunar clearly do not give a fig about the service they provide to people who have invested many thousands of pounds in their product, or I assume their reputation. Assistance from the dealer has also left a great deal to be desired with a “rolling of the eyes” every time a new problem is mentioned. Unlike some on this forum we are fortunate that the problems we are experiencing, to date at least, are only cosmetic. I can’t begin to think how tedious it must be to deal with some dealers and manufacturers where a more significant problem is involved. The UK caravan industry needs to get its act together. Based on my experience at the moment component quality is poor and customer service standards are a disgrace.
