I have a Kia Soul and at present tow a Freedom caravan. ..Im looking at upping my space a tiny bit and have been looking at the Bailey pursuit 400/2 all the weights work out fine but the nose weights are out. ..My max nose weight on the car is 52kg and the new bailey 400/2 is (ex works) 54kg. I have also looked at a 2015 older version of the 400/2 which is coming up at 64kg. ..so my question is is it safe to put the extra load onto the car? Should I worry about legality (all other weights are fine) . .I have done the car matching thing and it gives me all green but nose comes up red with only 4. 8% achievable. ..im so confused (the garage says ok. ..the caravan (main) dealers said ok) any advice would be greatly appreciated.
We had some minor damp repairs done on the bathroom window seal under warranty by our dealer a few weeks ago. We collected the van and went away for the weekend. We set up the van then went to the pub for a few hours. When we got back there was water EVERYWHERE! The aquaroll was empty so 40 litres of water had leaked from the bathroom and across the van floor. We returned the van the next day and they were full of apologies and said they'd investigate. Apparently one of the pipes had been cut during the warranty repairs. They've been drying the van out all week and say they've now got the damp down to 9%. But to us we're not going to have 'worry-free' caravanning as we're always going to be wondering whether there is more significant damage. Do we have any recourse? Can we ask for a replacement van of the same value? I know 9% is insignificant but that's 9% today. ..who knows what damage has been done? Any advice on how we manage this situation?
Hi All, I love this forum as so far every single issue I have had to date has been answered perfectly - so to add 1 more question to the list. . I passed my test in March 1997 (i'd have pulled my finger out and passed sooner if I knew we'd be getting hooked on Caravanning. ..) and I have just found out (by reading ths lovely forum) that I may have not been entirely legal towing with one of our previous outfits as I do not have my B+E entitlement. I have taken and passed a C&CC towing course and wondered if this is anything that could replace the B+E? Our current outfit is less than 3. 5T so I'll be fine for now but HWMBI. .M is forever changing cars so this might not always be the case. Does anyone know if having this helps or how much it might cost to get the B+E just in case. Thanks in advance Mandy
