Hi all, This is a big thank you to SWIFT & SARGENT ELECTRICAL:- Here's the intel:- I took delivery of a new 2014 Swift Conqueror a few weeks ago. I tow with a Land Rover Discovery 3. It was immediately apparent that the LED road lights on the caravan constantly flickered (dimly) when connected to the Discovery 3. They otherwise worked perfectly when activated. Apparently this was because the CanBus electrical system on the Disco, continually tests out the caravan road lights with grouped pulses of very low voltage, to check circuit continuity, and thus bulb patency. Whilst these low volts would not illuminate old tech filament bulbs, the highly efficient LEDs felt the low voltage pulses and flickered, albeit dimly, very obligingly! My Land Rover main dealer wrung hands and had no suggestions, other than changing road lights, or entire caravan! Yeah, right! My brilliant caravan dealer, Jeremy at HOMESTEAD CARAVANS, was on the phone to SWIFT immediately. SWIFT were not fazed at all. They have a 'man that can'. (Well, several actually at SARGENT ELECTRICAL) SWIFT contracted SARGENT ELECTRICAL to rapidly develop a solution. SARGENT have (very rapidly, as it happens) come up with a little black (well silver coloured actually) box, which is stuffed with electronics and microprocessor, which is plug 'n' play inside the caravan under the front near side bunk. (Took 10 minutes to fit myself.) Anyone with a screwdriver can fit it. The instructions could be followed by a decent sober dog, so no worries on installation. The best bit is that the price has been heavily subsidised, as you'll find. So, if you've got this problem with your SWIFT's LED Road-lights, get on the SARGENT ELECTRICAL site and order a VLM4 box. It's car specific, so they need your car model and your SWIFT Vin no. MY PROBLEM INSTANTLY SOLVED, MANY THANKS SWIFT AND SARGENT!
