We would like to know has any Caravanner used this product on their van to cure any leaks? If so is it still working? and shouldn't we all be using this suff if its as good as they say? just watch on online Utube demo its amazing stuff if it works?
  2. Good morning, daft question time! The external wheel arch spat / cover. How well should they be sealed. Could this area be a source of water making its way to the floor on the bailey Pegasus gt65. Thank you
  3. Hi CT users, my first post (somee great content and posts I've read so far). title says it all really, I'm after little gems of ideas or others experience of common remedies for problems caused by run off or escape water ingressing at weak points such as locker seals, window seals. I've seen the Fiamma drip stop product (adhesive strip) but doesn't look like a longterm solution for its cost. j strip drip stops, bars or rubber of-the-shelf products or diy improvisation. Even seen tile edging/beading (e.g. B and Q type stuff) on YouTube being used (though ugly). Thanks in advance and hopefully others would benefit too.
  4. Having had both roof lights replaced under warranty when my 2013 Avante 564 was 1 year old due to an installation/manufacturing defect, this weekend we noticed a new leak in the same area at the edge of the front Heiki. Waiting to see how this will be resolved but had service in March with no damp and now we have a visible damp patch in the ceiling. Hoping my dealer rises to this challenge and gets things sorted in the same efficient way the did when the 3 year warranty still applied.
  5. On a recent trip, we had some heavy rainfall and stiff winds. The lounge window and the toilet window both started letting water in, although the windows were closed. This wasn’t a drip but a trickle. On inspection, I found the area where the water was entering was where the seal ends butted up to each other. After opening the windows and drying the area, the leaks stopped. All rather strange. Has anyone else experienced this type of issue?
  6. Just re-posting this, as I originally placed it in another thread which was more about about air leaks. Re-proofed my leaking-from-new Kampa Rally Air Pro 390 awning a couple of weeks ago. Weekend just gone, it got well-rained on while we were away. Result: bliss! Instead of pouring through the roof, sides and doors, it just stood in beads and rolled off the canvas. No leaks anywhere - except. . . ..when it pooled on the roof, and I had to push it off with the brush. A few drops came through where I touched the roof. But to be fair, no more water came through afterwards. I've read other threads about pooling on this awning. It's important to space the awning out properly and inflate until it nearly explodes. Unfortunately, even that doesn't seem to work when the ground is sloping up away from the caravan, which leaves the roof more level than it should be. However, I'm happy wih the waterproofing. It's stopped me chucking the awning on the tip. What did I use? Fabsil Gold - applied with a 3" paintbrush. £14 a litre. Used 2. 5 litres. Well worth it. Final point - for me this confirms my view that the problem was down to poor manufacture. The proofing was incomplete. And that supports a view, gleaned from many posts on here, that the quality of a Kampa awning is very hit-and-miss. Some are fine. Others are disastrous. Buy at your peril.
  7. Hello Complete Newbie here, I am trying to install a new Reich Kama Mixer tap to my caravan. Seems very simple. .. 1. Put tap and wires through hole 2. Use ring to secure tap to work surface from below. 3. Attach wires for microswitch 4. Push fit connectors to hot and cold spigots 5. Push fit connectors to hot and cold water pipes 6. Turn on pump and hey presto. ... water pour out of the top of the push fit connectors Have tried. .. Ensuring push fit connectors are driven all the way home on the spigot Spigots are separated far enough to allow push fit connector to go over lip on spigot Buying new push fit connectors Buying new tap So I've changed all the components I can think of and still get water pouring out. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Richard
  8. Hi Bought an old (aluminium plate) Swift Rapide a few years ago and the rear right corner was found to be damp (namely when the maneuvering handle came off in my hand !) I scince then took all the old mastic strips off and replaced them with new and totally rebuilt the inside with new wood and thin ply. (and plugged the soggy floor with resin and plugs ). We have decorated it nicely and the rest of the caravan is lovely and dry, so it would be a shame to scrap it. However I have never really been certain it had properly resolved the issue Been in it today after a pretty damp winter and there is black mound again in the corner. After searching on here I have decided that a couple of vents should help dry it out but have also decided that it time to go to war on this for good and I dont care if its not pretty. I have seen threads on dribbly sealants, sikaflex etc etc, but wanted to tap your accumulated experience on the matter. The things exterior is never going to win a beauty pagent, so im not that fussed about how it looks particularly, I just want that water to stop getting in for a few years more while we have kids to take on holiday. I think the leak is coming in from 3 potential places: Roof ridge (looks OK but i can imagine it dripping down from there) Side - Roof Flashing / mastic strip. when I installed the new strip it was too wide for the strip, so I had to trim to trim it off a bit, and this has left it uneven with possible areas water may puddle and drip in. Side strip flashing, Its not nice under it and in all honesty id rather get rid of it completely and replace it with some hardcore tape or something that will cover up all holes and keep water out. Im beginning to consider just getting that clear gorilla tape and covering all 3 seams with it and being done with it. Please help keep the old girl dry for a while longer.
  9. Hi, Discovered a leak from the cube-like box inside my (Bailey Unicorn Cadiz 2017) caravan. This box looks like the internal 'socket' for the external pump/tube/connector. See photo. And it seems that where the blue face meets the white 'box', drips of water emerge at the bottom and drop onto the floor beneath. In the photo, the bottom left electric connector seems to get wet. I can't be sure *exactly* where the water is coming out of this 'box'.....but all suggested solutions welcome. The van is less than one year old and not the first problem. Thanks. Su
