  1. Hi all, the front panorama window of my Swift Conqueror 560 2016 model started to leak when it is raining. Since I'm the second owner of this caravan and the first one missed the yearly check up, the Swift group refuses to fix this issue within the "10 year warranty". So it's not a warranty but more like a "every year we fix all leaks for 10 years and then you are screwed" It's quite frustrating since besides the newly discovered leak, I've had a lot of issues with the caravan: The veneer was constantly falling off and I had to glue it back on. I'm a Software Engineer myself and was exited about their Swift Command App and the possibility to control the caravan remotely with an app. Then I've discovered that their API was not secured at all! So everyone could access the data of ALL other Swift caravan owners personal data, including their GPS location and could also remote control those caravans. I was in shock about the lack of basic data protection and immediately contacted them to get this fixed. And now the caravan is standing here with a leaking window and they refuse to help in any way. Therefore I need to fix it myself. Could anyone point me to instructions how this panorama window is removed, to I can seal it up again? Is it screwed or glued in? Do I need to remove the whole interior paneling in order to get access to the window? Since it my first caravan any advice is highly appreciated. A video of the leak can be found here: https://youtu. be/IQJOUwSpLds
  2. Hello, we have a 4 berth Bailey Pageant Champagne caravan. It’s rather old (2002) but it’s our introduction to caravanning. It keeps throwing problems at us and so far we have been able to work things out. Until today. We have just shown our grand children and they are very excited to learn we are taking a trip this weekend. But we have a problem. The kitchen tap is dribbling virtually no water because it’s literally pouring out Underneath! I presume a pipe has broken but how on earth can I find it? I can’t see any obvious way to get to the pipe work. Urgent help needed. Can anybody help please?
  3. Calling on Elddis van owner to check the seals around the battery box and under bunk external access compartment as the seal on my van has failed and flooded the inside of the van. The fact that it's on 2 compartments suggest it's the fixing material not a poor installation, in my opinion, but I was surprised that there are no fixing screws securing the frames to the body of the van. The picture is taken looking down the outside of the van from above the compartment.
  4. I recently bought a Bailey Unicorn Seville (20 17) which is a lovely van. However while travelling and at the end of each journey, we find a small pool of anti freeze has spilt from the central heating (Aldi) tank in the wardrobe. Anyone knows what could be the cause of this. If its a small job I don't want to travel 140 miles to the dealer to sort it out. Many thanks for any help.
  5. We have been considering purchasing a new Adora Seine 2019. We have noticed that the shower isn't fully lined and wondered if there would be any potential for leaking. Does anyone have any experience of using the shower enclosure on this model and has the seal deteriorated over time? Also how well does it work having the heated radiator inside the shower enclosure? Thanks
  6. I'm an experienced caravaner now retired. Last year I purchased a Kampa Air Ace 400 awning which as most of you will know isn't a cheap item at just shy of £1000. 00. I have used it on three different trips totaling 28 days of use. On each trip it leaked from various places quite significantly. This was not condensation which I am used to. Has anybody else experienced similar problems with this awning? Also whilst I'm here, the Kampa 12 volt pump 'expired' on its second usage so we took it back. Now we have to exert our aging muscles using the hand pump. I know that Kampa have a new 12 volt pump out but I just can't find anybody who has one in stock. I'm told that to use any other manufacturer's pump would invalidate the Kampa Warranty? I continue to wheeze away I have written to kampa TWICE but they don't respond and my dealer doesn't have them in stock or know if they are any good. The predecessor I understand was problematic. Yours, Gold watch and shackles.
  7. Hi Anyone any experience changing the cartridge in a Reich Trend A shower mixer tap, its leaking from the body joint. I cannot see how to dismantle the tap, the little coloured thingy is on the end of the tap stalk and surely there cant be a grub screw accessible from there. Ian
  8. 2017 Elddis caravans could have a leak from the top brake light. Please check your caravan for the leak I have used roof brush with hose attached leaning on brake and water starts to flow in. My option is to check your caravans. .. I have used clear gorilla tape to seal my leak. Please feel free to post and again this is only my opinion.
  9. I've recently experienced a slight leak from the holding tank, emanating from the seal behind the blade operating knob. It is still under warranty and John from Caravancare did his utmost to fix it during my recent service but had to give up after almost an hour of fiddling - it still leaked! The upshot was a replacement blade assembly that duly arrived from Thetford FOC and which took me about a minute to fit - far better than trying to replace the seal alone. Good service from Thetford and another accolade for John!
  10. Hi Im just wondering what the general thoughts are on how long seasonal pitched awnings last? I had heard talk on our site that most are 3 year with Isabellas being more. Is this generally realistic? (Subject to exceptions to the rule of course) Reason for asking: We have a pyramid helios seasonal awning, now 2 years old. Arrived at van yesterday night after a heavy rain day, and inside of all awning very wet. Seems a lot more than any condensation. The wet seems to be dripping down off of the roof poles. we roof poles are mostly wet and the roof above soaked. Roof between poles seems damp to touch. I'm really thinking it's the roof proofing that has gone and that its coming through mostly where the poles physically touch as a weak point. So where does the economy lie? Have the roof reproofed (and awning limited life left) Buy new more expensive awning and bin this one Buy new then reproof this to sell on eBay (highlighting reproofing) Buy new then sell this on eBay as spares or repair I think a lot depends on people's opinions on how long you can get out of an awning that's pitched full seasonal Thanks for advice Alex
  11. does anyone know how to remove the cover plate on the cassette for this? In the manual it says rotate anti-clockwise! mine won't budge and I don't want to break it. The cassette leaks when being carried so I presume the seal needs replacing?
  12. Hi, can anyone offer advice on how to deal with a Vendee S5 2005 that is leaking rainwater into the front locker from under the front windows. I am not too concerned that rainwater is leaking onto the front locker plastic/resin floor, but very concerned that the woodwork inside the front panel may be rotting. It appears that the water is tracking down inside the two vertical window frames that separate the three front windows. Could the rainwater ingression be though the window hinges at the top of the windows or is it possibly more serious and the ingression be through the roof joint at the top of the front panel. There is no ingress on the inside of the van. Your help is appreciated.
  13. I have a Swift 580 Lux built in 2001. It has an internal water tank which leaks when its about full. I have not had time to remove the tank protective cover on the underside of the caravan to see where the leak is coming from yet. I have checked the pump housing and fittingsunder the bed box and it is dry. The drain pipe fitting is also ok. Any ideas before I remove the cover to investigate?
  14. I have a leaking bathroom tap, before I take it out is the connections in to the tap housing screwed in or are they fixed into the housing meaning I can't repair it. We are away in Norfolk so it's going to be at least a week before I can get to the stealer for them to sort out. Marc
