  1. Hi fellow caravaners, Have you ever been stuck in mud while caravanning on rainy days? If you are like me, the answer is yes. I’ve had that unpleasant experience more than once, so it motivated me to come up with a solution. I believe this is something which will help many caravaners like you and me in the future. I tried it and it worked but it still needs a few tweaks and that’s where I need your help. Could you spare a few minutes to answer this very short survey? Click here Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it!
  2. Hi guys, I have a mystery switch on my abbey spectrum that lights up when on but have absolutely no idea where or what for, has anyone else had an abbey that knows what it does? It's the switch on the left of the control panel. I will add a photo! Thanks, Ross.
  3. Hi All, Don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but a search didn't turn anything up conclusively. I've recently had a 200w solar system installed and it's all now working tickety boo following on from the installation gremlins. What I'd like to do if it's possible, is to wire in a 2000-3000w inverter into the system so that I can plug something that requires 240v in to any of the plug sockets, rather than having to plug them into the front of the inverter. I'm thinking toaster, kettle, microwave, hairdryer, tv etc - but never more than one thing at o

  5. hi, wonder if anyone has an opinion on my question? i asked a mobile caravan fitter to come and do the brakes on my caravan, the problem was that the handbrake was just not holding the caravan very well when the handbrake was on. The fitter came out and charged my £80. I asked what work he had done and he said the pads were ok but the brakes needed adjusting. Surely its not £80 to adjust the brakes.? he also said that a nut had been cross threaded,Now I am not a fully qualified fitter but whenever i have put brake pads on in the past i can't remember any nuts, has anyone any links to an explo

  7. Good afternoon I write in this forum for the first time. First, sorry for my English, it's not too good. I comment my circumstance. In April of this year I bought, in Spain, a caravan of English origin, a Piper 1400L. But I have a problem, it does not have any documentation, it only has the trailer plate and a number (PFS507Y349832) engraved on all windows. I don't know what year of the caravan I don´t have the technical characteristics of it. For this reason I would like to know if someone can help me to get information as well as a possible type-approval password to get document
  8. Hi, New to this. Recently inherited a static caravan with the above hot air system installed however it has been condemned. Ha e searched online for engineers but no luck and the manufacturer can't help. Caravan situated in the KA26 area if anyone knows or can point me in the right direction. Thanks, DJ
  9. Hey, so back in may i came agross a caravan which was old and was starting to show its age, as they wanted a quick sale I got it for a steal! Ive managed to repair and replace most of what I needed to, I am gradually getting there with it all but the electrics are really starting to annoy me, I can’t seem to get it to work, but I also know nothing about electrics or how any of it works, so I have no idea what I’m doing wrong or if it’s broke, I’ll attach photos of the set up, the one thing making me think the zig panel is okay is that the light works?
  10. Hello Complete Newbie here, I am trying to install a new Reich Kama Mixer tap to my caravan. Seems very simple. .. 1. Put tap and wires through hole 2. 14. First of all, I would like to say hello to everyone in this forum. I became a member just because I love the idea to become a "motorhomer" although I am a bit lost how to do it. I know the first step - buying a motorhome, however I just wanted some information about everything to bear in mind in terms of cost, driving, parking, legal regulation. . . before doing that. I am currently based in Liverpool and I will move on down south to Tonbridge in a couple of months, so I hope to find some people who love and are involved in this kind of life over there. Thank you very much for the op
  15. We've recently bought a brand new Lunar Clubman SI to replace our old Swift Challenger. Unfortunately, the after sales service from our dealer is really awful, and they are most unhelpful. We noticed an on/off switch on the rear outside end of the right hand front bench seat, close to the Power unit, but we have absolutely no idea what it actually does, despite trying it with numerous combinations of lights etc. Can anyone enlighten me please? Thanks
  16. Hi I've had an email from rellies in New Zealand looking for information. They saw a friends 2003 Bailey And noticed the front windows were covered in crazing ( this could be seen from the inside but not when outside ) the van was closed up over their summer and not used because the friends husband had died. Any ideas what might have caused this ? He would like to know as its to cost $ 5000 to replace the three front windows . And wants to avoid this happening to his van as well as being able to advise their friend. Anyone heard of this before ?
  17. Hi Me and my partner brought our caravan in Feb this year. . The owner of the site moved our van, reversed it and hit some concrete, which broke one of the feet off. .. (which wasn't a big deal, brought new feet!!) but still - wasn't happy! However, when we then tried to move the van and wind the legs up, we noticed that the jack couldn't reach the bolt (IM HOPING THIS WILL MAKE SENSE TO SOMEONE OUT THERE! NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT IM ON ABOUT!) So, after getting underneath and having a look, it seems, where the leg attaches to the bar at the top which then attaches to th

  19. We bought this caravan and tried it at home and found that the pump was really noisy, so we took it back to suppliers and they ordered the Whale Watermaster pump for us as the other one is now obsolete. It's all fitted and we have had the caravan back here to get used to all the modern conveniences, having had a 15 year old van. Low and behold the pump is still very noisy. ...right a question here and hopefully someone can tell us where we are going wrong. This is how we get the water up and running. ... 20. Hi. Am thinking about getting a caravan. Was going to go for a static until I found out the site fees for where I wanted were nearly £5k a year and not sure if that is worth it. I am therefore considering getting a tourer but want to be convinced it wont be a 5 minute wonder. Have never had one before so grateful of any advice. Would have to keep it in storage as no drive so not sure if that would be a hassle as well Things like getting used to towing, auto or manual gearbox, using the on board toilet etc etc Thanks in advance Steven
  21. I purchased a replacement remote from Sargent for a 2005 Bessacarr 550GL. It arrived with instructions on programming which entails finding the pir sensor. 24. Please help! Some 2 months ago, I took delivery of my lovely new Pegasus GT65 Verona, a few days before we set off on our 4 (and a bit) week touring holiday. The biggest problem I experienced was getting the nose weight down to the limit of 75kg. I drive a Skoda Superb 2. 0 140 PS TDi ( a slightly high ratio, I know) with a Skoda fitted tow bar -hence the 75kg When I first checked the nose weight (using a Milenco gauge), the figures were over 100kg!!! And I like to think I've got a reasonable idea of how to load a caravan. Putting items like the power cable and awning in the rear bathro
  25. Hi again! I'm testing out everything on my van and have came across a snag. I'm hoping it has a simple solution. The water in the taps of the bathroom of my van is flowing at a good rate/pressure with a good temperature, but the tap in my kitchen flows at a trickle. Any suggestions? It's a 1999 Bailey Pageant Moselle. Cheers Scott
