  1. Happy weekend all, I am after some advise we have recently bought a 2002 Compass Rayllee and are very happy but it has a couple of niggles. One of the issues we have is the bedroom sliding wooden door was damaged, we have bought new tombstone sliders but we are unable to work out how the first part of the door pulls out the secondary part. I imagine there was some sort of strap, or a sliding rail fitted but the part is nowhwre to be found. Looking for advise on what should be fitted to the 2 holes to assist in sliding the door in and out of its recess (please see photos)
  2. We made the move to Swift this year with a dealer special Corniche 19/4. Mostly very pleased with it. However, one annoying and potentially damaging thing is that on both occasions we've towed it so far, the semi-circular shower door has come off its rail and fallen into the cubicle. There's a catch which is supposed to prevent the door moving and it has been set on both occasions. Is this something that anyone else has experienced and have you any suggestions to prevent it?
  3. Bailey Pegasus GT65 2014. The blind in the door is loose and floppy. I took the frame off and there is no apparent device for retracting this at all. Should there be some sort of spring to allow the blind to operate?
  4. Any one suffered from "arc" markings to their Microwave door and door frame? We have only used ours about 3 times since we bought the van new in April, I can not remember any problems with our previous 2010 model microwave. I have sent an email to the dealer for a warranty claim yesterday. Photo now added (used Chrome instead of Firefox)
  5. Touring the continent, the door lock has become faulty key will not turn barrel. Took to lock off sprayed oil in, worked for short while then became faulty again. Could take to bits further by removing surclip but loath to do this. Any ideas please
  6. Hi, Trying to find a replacement door for our Hobby 495 UK (2003). Just had a call from the storage site to advise that someone broke in and stole the door by removing the lock and lifting it off it's hinges ! We bought this while living in Germany, and it has given us many happy holidays around Europe. Keen to get the door replaced, but looking for a more cost effective solution than the almost GBP 1000 that I've been quoted so far !! Any ideas ? Is there a standard size for either caravan or Hobby doors - is a breaker's yard an option ? Grateful for the benefit of any experience. Iain
  7. I have a Electrolux 3 way fridge, think its the RM 4270 or RM 4271 in my van. Fridge is from the years 1999/2000. The freezer door has stuck in the dropped down position, it can be moved back to closure but against resistance, i. e. it is trying to open all the time. I believe the hinges are replaceable or even possibly ressettable, but how do I remove them please. I have seen an Australian film on you-tube removing hinges on a Dometic fridge, and though the hinges look similar to mine I don't seem to be able to follow the procedure. . Help!!!! Dave
  8. I have a 2010 Sterling Eccles Coral and the magnet has split/come off the perspex shower door. I have got a new magnet but try as I might I cannot get anything to hold it to the door. I have tried contact adhesive, double sided heavy duty carpet tape and a trade adhesive called " Sticks Like Poo" ( not the real last word for obvious reasons !) and it still comes off. The door and magnet have been cleaned with thinners and yet I am still having problems. My local Sterling dealer has a new genuine part but cannot say if it has adhesive on it ( i dont know why they cannot tell me this!!)......help ! Any suggestions gratefuly accepted before my sanity runs out. .........
  9. Has anyone fitted a fly screen for the door on an Altea? Noticed it hasn't got one there which I would like to fit. Thanks
  10. I would like to put a waste bin on my caravan entrance door. It was supplied with 3 small screws. Should I use these, if not which type of fastening should I use.
  11. hi, went to open the 'van door last night, (1999 bailey moselle) and i felt the key start to turn the lever with a bit of resistance, then suddenly, no resistance. it appears that a lever inside may have broken. how can i get in?! i realise this is a dodgy question to ask as it may be a burglar's dream. luckily the van is on my drive, so no urgency. drill out the lock? door hinges? break a window? the lock has been sticky for a while and i have used wd40 before.
  12. i have a 2001 avondale dart 510 with a Thetford 200 and the instruction book indicates a Thetford Door type 3. I purchased a new seal however it fits on the hatch perfectly but its too deep for the door to close and also it attaches to the frame not the door as the picture plus the lock is in the centre not top or bottom so i think this may not be a Thetfrod model at all. The seal i removed is much thinner. Any ideas? As i have a brand new Type 3 seal if anyone wants to make an offer :-) Also there seems to be moisture sitting in the bottom of the frame (in the locker) and some damp so im thinking i remove and reseal the frame and replace the seal.

  14. I've seen some lovely caravans but the door has been on the opposite side to caravans make in the Uk. Would there be any problems if the door was on the other side?
